A source out of Argentina is stating that a bout between newly crowned WBA super lightweight champion Amir Khan (21-1, 15 KOs) and WBA interim super light weight champion Marcos Maidana (26-1, 25 KOs) could be in the works for October in England. Both fighters are coming off of career best wins. Khan won the WBA super lightweight title by unanimous decision over Adreas Kotelnik last weekend while Maidana won his interim title by impressively stopping Victor Ortiz in 5 rounds last month.

Bad match-up for the brit. Maidana is too busy with power for khan to hang with. I'll admit prescotts KO of kahn is of the flukish kind, but the argentine KO's him 10 out of 10 times. Kahn's chin is too bad.

i don't think it's gonna happen, but i will be very excited if it does. i expect khan to get his head knocked off, but if he doesn't and he wins clearly, i will officially give him my full respect. make it happen!!!

few reason's why this fight ain't happening yet, first khan is not fighting in october, but is likely to fight in november or december in his American debut on the undercard of a big fight possibly pacquaio/cotto. secondly risk/reward, i'm sure roach would be confident of a khan win, apart from his apparent power maidana is pretty crude and i'm convinced someone with a consistant stiff jab who circles would beat him and so is roach but its too risky for an opponent who is little known, khans needs a big name dance partner to do decent ppv figures in the UK and no one knows maidana (ties in with risk/reward) so a better/bigger more moneyspinning fight is with witter which is sure to happen seeing as they already offered to fight witter after kotelnik initially pulled out, so they're likely to wait for the outcome of witter vs Alexander or even campbell/bradley both of whom are better known (more money) before signing on a fight, plus it would be a unification and if that doesn't go their way then the other choice ahead of maidana is salita who is a pretty good but save mandatory.

Strange that they'd want to throw him in against a guy whose stopped 25 men.

Khan will get Salita or be fed an old man to beat up for cash. Those are the smart moves....but I'd pay to see a Maidana match down the line, assuming they both keep winning.

I Think they will give khan an easy first defence some hyped up jorneyman
i think warren will try and duck the mandatory

Good Time for khan to re-match prescott after his first loss???
if he can't beat him now he never will

They have a easy mandatory which would generate alot of interest in Salita, no chance its Maidana in his next fight....

As long as he stays away from Morales his next fight

I would love to see this. Maidana would spark out Khan big time.
