Khan Malignaggi HBO event

    the whole main event will earn 1.5million USD... and that Khan is guaranteed 1.25million USD of that.

    This leaves Malignaggi to scrap for a meager 250,000....
    Am I the only one who thinks this is messed up!? I mean, Malignaggi is arguably the bigger US draw. Also, he is higher rated in most of the ABC belts except the one where Khan is Champ.
    Paulie has been on HBO more...


    I think that Khan is going to bid himself out of a lot of fights. He has almost ensured he will not fight elite competition until this current contract with HBO expires. No one is going to want to make a meager 20%.... unless that short money is a big deal for them in their career...

    khan has sighned a contract with golden boy that garuntees him an amount so its up to golden boy to make the best fights to increase there proit margin

    its acttually a good thing because if khan gets a set amount per fight , the bigger the fight the more money GB make . its acttually in their interest to test the fightr

    Why is he being guaranteed so much money?
    I know he is supposed to be a hot talent coming up but come on.

    Thats way too much for a guy who hasnt really proven his worth in the US.

    Shut the hell up, this has nothing to do with that.

    Khan is probably being offered more of the money because they assume he'll win and go on to make them substantially higher numbers as his career progresses.

    Hold on a second, what is so bad about 1.2m DOLLARS?

    you do know he is on Uk PPV and the fight will do around 400k buys a usual or probably higher at about 20 pounds each

    which will make around 800k plus if hbo are making 700k pounds from the fight as you say then khan will be earning around 700k from the 1.5m in total in generates?

    If Khan loses his career is over. He just can't lose this and he knows it, as does roach which is why they are protecting him.

    His first ppv fight in uk and he got knocked out, he is still recovering his reputation.
