The underrated boxer (Joe/ Khan) is fighting an older superstar ( Roy/Floyd).

The fan favorite ( Jones/ Floyd) has never faced speed like the Younger warrior (Joe/Khan) brings to the table.

Khan, like Joe will have to fight in States.

Mayweather, like Jones will realized the trouble he is in, around the 3rd or 4th round.

And lastly I made a small fortune betting on Joe, and I will make a large fortune on Khan!
Maybe I'LL buy a new car with my winnings:D

    Bull**** comparison:-

    1. Mayweather is on top of the food chain and would be considered favorite vs any fighter in the 140-154 division. RJJ was the underdog vs Calzaghe.

    2. Calzaghe was coming of two good wins Hopkins and Kessler. Both those wins were with titles and prestige on the line, while Khan is coming off wins over Diaz and Molina preceded by losses to Garcia (TKO) and Peterson (Controversial)

I am just against your bull**** comparison, but I would too like to see Khan fight Mayweather after a meaningful win at Welterweight.

I wouldn't mind Khan vs. Floyd, I think there are some interesting aspects to that fight. The big problem for me is that Khan seems to have been going backwards since the Garcia fight. I'm worried he is no longer at his best level (which we saw vs. Judah, Maidana and Malignaggi). The flaw in your comparison with Calzaghe lies in the comparative mentalities of the two; Joe was a smart, determined guy who kept cool when he needed to and was rough when that was warranted. Khan doesn't seem to have that. If he had stayed with Roach and continued to be this extremely fast, high-workrate type fighter, I could have seen him giving Floyd some big problems. But I don't see that happening now that he is so fragile.

gotta laugh at these guys who make these pro con threads. The do not seem to realize that they only make people think of the 1000s of reasons why this fight should not happen.

Personally I think the fight is one of the few limited options mayweather has right now but these guys only want to pick that **** apart.

This type of fanboyism usually has the exact opposite effect on people that the write intends regardless of the fighter, whether it is Wlad is the Goat at HW, Joe would beat RJJ in their primes or floyd is TBE. sometimes people have to chill and let chips fall where the may.

khan is not calzaghe, he wins and defends real titles and sadly loses them too, whereas joe cal knows how to hold onto title, keep the most unwanted 2nd tier one and drop the wanted, world recognised ones.

secondly, mayweather is still postprime not shot like roy was. And roy was probably better than Floyd in his prime, I guess. But moreover, Khan has been calling out Mayweather forever whilst Floyd was still prime and would have fought him then too, whereas Joe cal admitted hes not chasing roy jones and doesn't want tough fights, he WANTED roy to age dramatically first so it wouldn't be a tough fight.

thirdly, calzaghe was postprime when he fought jones and khan is still prime, so theres another difference. Prime Calzaghe versus jones couldn't happen because Joe sought to wait for roy to turn shot first, since he didn't want a tough fight (his words) and he wasn't chasing roy when he was prime (his exact words, word for word).

Finally,. Joe was more accomplished than Khan when he had the corresponding fight, assuming khan has the fight soon.

fi anyone has a problem with what I wrote, note that is based on fact and what was said and what happened, so in effect you have a problem with what Khan, Jones, Mayweather and Calzaghe said, not with me, so please write to them asking why they said and did what they did, not me.

Other than the fact that 1 is American, and the other 1 isn't, I see hardly any similarities. But aside from that, great post!

cheers mate. bailey? hey well lets do it for him then -

"Baileyboy response... Joe Calzaghe was shot2**** and on his worst run ever in beating the first two champions he had fought Kessler and Lacy, worse than at any point in his career defending against some dozen subnationals/regionals.

But facing calzaghe, Roy Jones was prime and on his best run of fights ever, better than when he won mws, smw, lhw and hw titles consecutively and MUCH better than when beat prime toney and Hopkins, and ten times better than when he beat HW champion Ruiz too. Despite currently being knocked the fcuk out repeatedly that is.
Joe put on masterclass in beating roy who curiously couldn't lift his arms at all in response to Joe, such was Joes speed and showboating compared to the 40 year old roy.... great win for calzaghe who whooped with joy at the end, whooping not because he had avoided getting KOed by prime Roy but because this victory against a 40 yr oldster was so much better than beating any of the 20something prime world challengers like froch and dawson who were both shot2**** FAR worse than roy and must have lucked onto their world titles somehow by winning the National Lottery.

Part 2 to follow once I've had a wank over what I've written and wow I can hardly believe I just schooled you guys again with a 5 year old post."
