I know khan had a heard fought win but he really needed that pressure. gomez is a warrior (mexican) who refused to back down like the rest of khans opponents.

its no good fighting 25 scott lawtons and then getting whooped by some1 huz got an ounce of heart and skill. i'd rather see amir get broken down and pull through to win, then score an easy TKO, win the ref doing most of the work.

That pressure gomez gave him was a very good test, and he's gonna have to get used to it if he's even thinging about these big names. my advise is for him to go america and fight and least 2 more hard nuts like gomez who give a lot of pressure and carry a bit of punch. then come back and fight katsidas (when he's ready) before haveing a title fight.

    thoughts?

Khan needs to learn how to clinch. Its important, especially when you're tall and you're up against a guy who just barrels his way in and then works off your chest. You can see in this fight that after a while he was trying to clinch but he is not very good at it.

It's good experience if he learns how to apply it, yeah.

    It was a great fight.
Amir showed his heart when he was being pressured and came back ****in sik. nuff respect to gomez tho, we already knew about his heart.
    great ability.

imo, khan should look to hire a top defensive coach like Roger Mayweather. He's worked with him in the past but i think he should make the sacrifice and setup base in america. He must hone his defensive capabilities if he wants to become world champ.
But i truly believe he can if he works on that side of his game. Offensively, he can catch any fighter in the world with his handspeed and footwork. But guys like campbell, casamayor and diaz will catch khan way too much at the moment. This is why he should bide his time. Hes 21 ffs. Sick fight.

I think we are over looking the facts here people

KHAN HAS BEEN FLOORED TWICE BY FEATHERWEIGHTS!!!!................

He will not get his hands on a real word title unless frank brings in the WBU ;-)
the fact is that lightweight jr welter is full of belt holders that would knock him out!!!

    BY THE WAY

Katsidis would knock him out cold
    & gomez aint mexican abbaskhan!!!

You are aware that Gomez was in fact born in Ireland, aren't you? I heard he went to Tijuana once though.
