Khan needs to retire asap

Absolutely no reason to retire, this is ridiculous. Anytime someone get's KO'd more than once there's usually a thread saying they should retire. It's nonsense.

 

Sure is. I would argue being knocked out with one punch is far better for ones health than sustained punishment.

Stop hating. Khan has made plenty of £££ from boxing and has a hot wife. I know it kills you inside that the son of an Asian immigrant has done so well for himself but get over it already.

Maybe, but I don't see that as justification to retire. Garcia is beatable and I'd be quite content to see that rematch. Brook can fight Vargas or whatever he is planning on doing, which doesn't look like a lot at the moment

 

Very irresponsible thinking, you clearly don't care about a fighter's health and well-being then, Khan has one of the worst chins in boxing history and if he continues to fight he will continue to be knocked out. How many more savage knockouts can a man take?

The guy needs to retire and think about his family before he turns into a vegetable.

 

He doesn't beat anyone with power in the division. He's chinny beyond belief and the Garcia fight would be a carbon copy of the first.

His entire career is predicated on looking good against non-punchers and then getting knocked out when he faces an opponent who isn't inferior in every department.

 

Do you ask for every journeyman to retire when they're getting leathered by prospects 10 times a year?

Sustained punishment is much more detrimental than being KO'd with one shot every time someone lands

 

Maidana was a puncher, albeit a limited boxer. Either way, even if he does lose against Garcia I don't see that as reasoning to retire. If everyone who lost a few times at the top level of the sport retired we'd have a very lame sport

 

Maidana was green as hell at the time and had already been beaten by Kotelnik before losing to Alexander. He's extremely overrated because of the first Floyd fight.

There's a difference between a KO like the one Groves suffered and then returning vs being KTFO on a regular basis.

You're being facetious if you think that's a valid comparison. The difference in weight from 168 to 200 is not remotely comparable to the 8lbs Amir moved up.

I don't see a fight Amir wins that isn't against another B level fighter. All of the champions at 147 stop him.
