Thats the thing that is wrong with boxing as we know it. Seriously how the **** did Amir Khan crack the top ten of any rankings with the wins he had? Even Audley Harrison has had a better career so far.
Warren is capable of anything, afterall he even got that shitty Arsehole Arthur a WBO title on a plate.
His attitude has improved but he needs to forget bout the title and concentrate on going thru boxing school and sorting out his tools.
he claims prescot is world class. he lists tyson and hamed as fighters who lost and came back stronger.neither of them did.
Probably because he says that and then offers up various in some excuses and spin. Much like Ricky "No excuses but I'm just a natural 140 lbr and the ref blah blah" Hatton in that regard. Unable to give due credit with assinine comments such as "I've been hit harder before" don't help his cause.
Hamed, clearly outboxed by a HOF all time great P4P top 5 fighter to lose comfortably on points. Khan, rocked by the first solid jab, knocked down at will and KTFO and removed from his sense in one minute against an unknown world #127, hand picked opponent. Great comparison.
This is his first real interview since his first ever loss. How about you comment on the interview the thread is about. Watching it first may help.
OK I went to look at the clip and spotted one right away in the headline for it. He's putting the loss down to a "mistake" he made which he will learn from. Much like he did at ringside post fight...at least I think that was real. What you don't grasp is that right away is spin and an excuse, as being chinny as **** is not a mistake. What was he gonna do, just run for his life around the ring escaping Prescott for 12 rounds? Prescott knew he was vulnerable so just waded right in there with no respect and blew him away. He got blasted right out of there because he finally faced a competant opponent who can actually punch. Khant's implying that it was only down to himself that he lost it, it isn't Prescott won it with ease because Khants there for the taking. What was the mistake? meeting him in the middle of the ring and having a boxing match? There was nothing he could do. He didn't throw recklessly and widly and get caught, he was boxing normally at first. Prescott was able to just go right through him like a hot knife through butter at the first opportunity. It was similar to the beginning of the last Fedor fight against Tim Sylvia. Being "caught cold" and "not getting chance to get into the fight" is the same thing. Neither of those things happened DUE to him being too poor to make it go any kind of distance. Saying that is like putting it down to luck, when it's about ability.
to be fair to the lad he seems alright in that interview. Not sure what people expect him to say? 'yes my chin is shite and il never be world champ' or 'ive been fed bums and clearly can't take a dig'. Think he handled himself well there.
a dont think the ref should have let him go on after the 1st knockdown, he was still very shaky i think, the refs are **** scared to wave it off when something happens to him, but he could have got hurted a lot more last night, because some refs dont do their jobs, i suppose its because of the pressure, but they still gotta make the right calls
