To all the recent bemoaning by Khan fanboys that people don't seem to be appreciating this monumental victory, and instead seem intent on raining on Khan's parade.........well you're wrong. They are intent on raining on your parade.

Khan seems like a decent bloak, but his supporters are in general know-nothing fanboys. You would think that Maidana was a P4P opponent and Khan just wiped the floor with him.

Reality is, Maidana is nothing more than a top ten contender/former title holder in an era of easy come belts. And Khan went life and death with a guy that he should be suited (based on his natural gifts) to beat.

Maidana's best win is over an unproven prospect in Ortiz. And Khan's best win not including Maidana was against a top 15 jr welter in Kotelnik.

As a fan I can understand a Khan supporters excitement about the win. As a fan who doesn't care about either fighter, it was a fun fight to watch. But this win by no means declares Khan as anything.

The problem with fans and the media is they are always jumping the gun. The media has stated that the jr welter division is so deep. Really? Are you guys sure about that?

From what I have seen there are a lot of not ready for prime time inconsistent prospects and flawed veteran contenders. Bradley has been the most consistent but even Bradley doesn't look like a Kostya Tszyu level talent at 140lbs. No one certainly doesn't look like the next coming of an Aaron Pryor level talent.

How about if Khan fans tone it down a bit then perhaps these so called Khan haters will follow suit.

    Moral of this thread:

To earn the respect of all, be a great boxer but don't attract a big loyal following.

Prime example: Juan Manuel Marquez, great P4P boxer that only 4900 fans came to watch in Las Vegas in his last fight.

No wonder boxing is a dying sport. Fan enthusiasm is discouraged by the few so-called "hardcore fans".

Khan gets his due for beating Maidana and not folding down the stretch. But he is being rushed a bit, and his insane boastings about beating PBF are a MAJOR turn off.

He needs to STFU and just fight. If he develops some more tools, he could be a problem in the future.

His fans on here are too over zealous at times as well.

This is just blind to the point of the thread. If you want to be a fanboy then you can't rightfully complain about haters.

Fanboys are by definition not merely enthusiastic they are completely irrational. And casual fans usually end of taking these loud mouths as the "SEERS" of the boxing fan community because they talk the most and the loudest.

Nothing wrong with being overjoyed but at least keep in the realm of sanity.

No I mean don't be like FACE PAINTING casual sports fans: like US football and basketball fans. You know the type, they get together for the superbowl or only really watch a full basketball game until the playoffs but then are suddenly experts.

Also if you are speaking as a fan about a fighter then most here shouldn't take you too seriously. Fans are bias and not objective. Many of the posters here I suspect expect fans of fighters to still be objective enough to debate the sport.

You can't debate with a fanboy......there is no point.

Fanboys are annoying no matter what sport or hobby they're involved in, a lot of them are grown men too which is disturbing.

Yeah I'm starting to think all fan boys are annoying and I'm one of them :rofl Luckily for Khan, he has no real opposite and opposing fanbase to go against them, but they get too sensitive whenever somebody criticizes Khan.
They say oh Khan has a granite chin now. Maidana hit him hard and he didn't go down, but then somebody comes by and says well he did the chicken dance and ran for a whole round because he was hurt and then they tell you, you're douchebag and need to give him respect because he's 24. Khan is a good fighter and soon to be elite, but don't go blind to him

Read the threads since the win, a lot of it is to wind up his fans sure, but a huge amount of posts are purely about Khan.

I agree 100%. The problem here is that many who claim to be true boxing fans hate on the fanboys for doing things you mention, but display the same type of behavior when their fighter does well or when a fighter that has a fanbase they don't care for doesn't do well.

I admit I participate in the same asinine behavior, but only do so in good fun and I make sure when I say or claim something outrageous, that it can only be interpreted as a joke. I would say I'm an overzealous Pac fan at times. But it does not take away the fact that I have followed boxing for 30 years.

im giving my props to khan on a good solid win and perhaps his best win of his career. it ticks a box for me that he was able to survive good solid shots from a big puncher at 140 in any era. However im not gonna go overboard as khan still has work to do. If Maidana was a little more skilled as a boxer he maybe would have won tonight.

More to my main point. Khan and his fans have to forget, pack up and bury any thoughts or prospects about taking on Mayweather, Pacquiao (though they couldnt anyway) and even a Juan Manuel Marquez. He would get destroyed. Khan needs to focus on beating bradley/alexander wiinner, maybe a zab judah, juan diaz even a John Murrray and he could potentially control the 140 division for me. wait for those mentioned to retire then think about moving up to welter and who knows.
