Seeing as though he is a former Olympian himself and knows the dedication required to get to that level he should be more understanding towards the idea of womens boxing in the olympics.
Who is he to deny young, dedicated and talented female boxers a chance of representing their country at an olympic games?? FFS, the highlight of his whole boxing career is gonna be that silver medal he won in Athens....
Also, the standard in amateur boxing is not that bad, maybe its just me and the fact that i've only really watched fights involving Katie Taylor, but the standard is very high and I for one would think that Taylor would give Khan a run for his money in an amateur ring..

 

I was curious as to your obvious aggreviance with women not being able to compete, wasn't meant in a nasty way pal. Anyways it is true, women are better at giving birth, bleeding and crying. That is all.

Khan on the other hand.... he is right at the end of the day its his opinion (and I agree with it) but seriously, the media hate train will be on him in a flash for this. He is being guided superbly inside the ring now but worse than ever outside of it.

Khan's just won the world title..... Probably a bigger achievement in his eyes than coming second in the Olympics.

How is he denying these female boxers the chance to do whatever? He was giving his opinion when asked that was it. He wasn't advising the Olympic board on the matter was he ?

Thirdly he may not have needed to say anything but he was asked a question and he answered it with his own honest opinion.

 

I agree with that.

I don't like people saying what they are told to by some PR bloke. He has not said it should be stopped, he was asked an opinion and he gave his honest one rather than lie or sit on the fence. Barry McGuigan feels exactly the same and has said so whenever asked.

hatton when asked questions gives the answers people want to hear...... Khan just says what he feels. Sometimes he gets called arrogant, sometimes he's stupid, but at least you know where you stand with him

 

OK I was on a bit of rant about Khan and the comment about the olympic medal being his best achievment was a bit over the top (I was aware of the world title as i was writing it, but **** it I threw in the comment anyway).
Maybe the word 'deny' was the wrong word to use, but my point still stands. I should of said that, who is he to say or who is he to have that opinion??...I know its his opinion and he's entitled to it, but its a shitty opinion and one borne out of ignorance.
I have no probelm with boxers giving their honest opinion, but also i'm entitled to say its a **** opinion. Just because its his opinion doesn't mean its right.
Oh and i'm not a hater, I genuinely used to stick up for Khan when he was getting berated by people on this site, but when I heard his comments today I just thought to myself that this guy is an ignorant ****ing fool.

A very high profile boxer in Britain who WAS BEING ASKED his opinion. I could understand your point if he'd called a presser and said it, but come on your missing the point. He was asked to give his opinion and thats what he did at the end of the day :good

Either way whatever the views of it are here on this forum or in the back of a pro boxers mind, it's irrelevant as its happening now.
