Hatton was better and has the better career than Amir Khan. Khan still has plenty of time to turn that around if he does great things, though.

Khan has got a resume highlighted by victories over Maidana, Paulie, Kotelnik, and Judah with the defeats to Prescott, Peterson, and D. Garcia. While his top performances are high quality, his depth of opponent drops off significantly after those four listed, with Collazo and an elderly Barrera the only real noteworthy opponents.

Hatton has a resume highlighted by victories over Kostya, Paulie, Maussa, and Urango with the defeats to Mayweather, Pacquiao, and Senchenko after his 3.5 year hiatus. His best victory is clearly the best between the two and a highly historically relevant one. While his next best victories aren't that high of quality for the measure of a HOF'er, he does have decent fighters like Lazcano, Collazo, and an elderly Castillo. Also, Hatton's quantity depth of opposition that isn't named above, before Kostya, adds up and is far superior to everything that is not listed above for Khan...

Hatton obviously has the edge, but Khan is only 27 and seems to be in a position, promotion-wise and fan base-wise, to get fights that can propel him... theoretically.

    Hatton is leagues above Khan
Hatton would not lose to the likes of Prescott, Peterson and Garcia.

Hatton would beat Khan senseless H2H as well

In his prime Hatton only lost to the two best fighters of the 21st century.

Career 44-1 record at light welter. Stopped Tszyu for linealship.

One of the best LWWs of recent memory. Highly underrated.

Primes Hatton beats Khan imo. Not an easy fight as Hatton's defence is his face but I still think Hatton walks him down and KO's him late.

Hatton would still beat Peterson, even if he was on PEDS

Khan has very little punch power, the first couple of rounds would be rocky for Hatton, but once the steam goes off Khans punches (normally after about 4 rounds), Hatton starts pouring it on.

Khans clinching wouldnt help him here as Hatton is a pretty rough and dirty inside fighter.

Khan has more talent but it's hard to compare as khan is still fighting

In a fight between the two if hatton's skin/eyes can hold up over the first 8/9 rounds he has better than 50/50 chance to get a late win

Boxing ability and potential - Khan
    Better wins/losses - Hatton

Hatton himself has heaped praise on Khan in a recent interview to bad some his fellow countryman don't give the same support just because his skin is a different pigmentation

Skin color has nothing to do with it. Remember how Hamed was praised and loved?, what about Eubank, Benn, Bruno...etc. Regarding Hatton, it was Khan who wanted a fight with Hatton as soon as he lost despite Hatton's free advice and praise. How could anyone support that crap?

I have to disagree Hamed was hated people couldn't wait till he lost the aftermath of the barrera fight proved that.

Eubank was also disliked. Ben and Bruno were slow so the typical british boxing fan could relate to them.

Khan is P.akistani whose numbers are quite large in the uk especially up north. There is a lot of hate because in these towns they do quite well own businesses, have better clothes, houses and cars then there white counterparts in the same towns so there is a lot of hate. Down south the white population are well off so you don't get the same level of hate.:good

Khan does deserve some of the stick he gets, getting knocked out by Prescott and Garcia but then constantly calling out Mayweather.

He's just as deluded as Audley is.

Eubank, Benn, even Hamed, were pretty humble in defeat, Khan has a different excuse every time things dont go his way.

Theres humble losers and then theres whingers like Khan, Audley, Witter, Degale and Haye is soon to be joining that list with his 'toe excuse' and other recent stunts
The only thing worse than a ****y winner is a ****y loser
