There may be an element of truth to that, but what about other pakstanis who hate Khan?

He was from the midlands too :D

Actually i believe that whole scenario was a publicity stunt. Funny how the guy claimed to have taken Khans car keys, how the hell did Khan get home then?

You are wrong, statistically and clearly. Hamed was loved, regularly(and still is) discussed and defended by British fans and was supported throughout his career. Sure he had his share of haters as everyone does but his supporters overshadowed them with ease. Just take a look at how many fans he drew wherever he fought. Hamed is still generally discussed and defended by British fans regardless of skin color. The exact same can be said about Eubank and Benn.

Thats true to a certain point.

Actually he was severely booed when he was introduced at Froch/Groves fight, but on the same token, his interaction with fans after the fight was pretty hilarious, hes a very polarising character and i feel that has more to do with his ****iness/style than his skin colour/race.

Hamed was much more openly religious than Khan, even during his pre fight entrances

Have to agree. When I was growing up I remember the papers and general feeling towards Naz I felt more hate then love but they all tuned in to watch him though :good

Hamed did far crazier things, his entrances, post fight interviews, interviews in general...etc yet he was still loved. Sure there were a lot that hated him too but they accepted his weird personality and still tuned in. There were many fans that were very upset when he stopped fighting. Khan is a totally different case. He talks smack about fellow British fighters, calls out a highly revered and loved Hatton after a loss despite the advice he gave him and generally acts stupid on these internet social sites.

As long as you support the British flag, the British fans will be there to loyally support regardless of where you originally came from or how you look. Just take a look at the love Lewis got and he's originally from Jamaica who fought for Canada in the Olympics.

Two friends of mine from school, both white, both slightly similar backgrounds, although one was probably slightly better off.

One absolutely hated Hameds guts (most likely due to racial reasons) and one loved him to bits (the one from the more well off family).

I dont think Hamed was everyones cup of tea, he was the Mayweather of his time, but he definitely wasnt as cringeworthy as Adrien Broner.

I think when Khan retires, Hamed will always be more fondly remembered out of the two.

Khan was always coming out with the British flag, supporting British soldiers so not sure what you are on about there.

You have to remember we are in a different time now with social media where every word is sent to millions instantly.

Can you imagine if ben, Lewis and Eubank had twitter accounts back in them days. Would love to see the tweets between eubank, benn and James tony

Hamed was a ****y winner, Khan is a whinger, thats the major difference.

Its not coincidence that some of the most popular British fighters have all been humble (except Hamed), whereas some of the most detested boxers in the UK are all delusional whingers and moaners like Witter, Khan, Audley, Haye is joining that list soon (with all his toe excuses) and Groves too.

Groves was applauded for his heroic performance against Froch, but since then all he's done is moan and whinge and get everything his way.

People complain about Froch's gloating but is Groves whinging really the answer?

If Groves does retire Froch, i think public opinion was slowly turn against him

Of course he's going to support the British flag, did you expect him to support the Pa.kistani flag all alone when all the support and sponsorship came from England?. My post there was merely an example that you misunderstood. British fans are clearly put off with Khan due to his attitude and behavior, not because he's Pa.kistani.

If these guys had twitter accounts back in the day they would have made a lot of money. These guys would have talked smack and eventually signed to fight each other, unlike Khan who talks smack about fighters he's never going to fight.

You also have to remember khan since his success at the Olympics was being constantly called out by every tom, dick, harry and his dog
