provided ortiz wins tomorrow night...possible match on a march 6th card with the other fight being devon alexander against maidana....pretty interesting fight with alot at stake for these real young kids...ortiz or khan taking another loss could be pretty bad for their careers...risky...but there isnt much point in pussyfooting around either...theyve passed that point...
Where has this come from is there a link ???? After the Maidana debicle i couldnt see GBP putting Ortiz in with Khan no way !!!!!!
just read the comments on there, so ironic how the majority were saying ortiz would knock khan out, and if asked the same question now, only a few months later most would probably pick khan, and probably by stoppage. Khan ortiz sounds good with maidana and alexander on the same card
I'm surprised so many people are favouring Khan over Ortiz. Very surprised. As it stands I'd actually go for an Ortiz win, stoppage in the mid to late rounds. I honestly don't know if Khan's defence is improved enough to withstand pressure from someone as aggressive as Ortiz. 72 seconds against Salita certainly doesn't convince me that Khan is ready for this sort of challenge. People seem to be writing off Ortiz too much. He's a massive junior welterweight with destructive power in both hands, and he will certainly have Khan in a world of trouble if he catches him clean. It's a great match up, and it makes good business sense to make it happen further down the line, when both have established their names and have are reached their peak. In which case, I'd be more inclined to favour Khan, as his development under Roach seems like it can go very far.
Isn't it the other way round dude? I'm pretty sure it was Khan that put Ortiz down in the amateurs. (Not that it will have much bearing in a pro bout)
yeah...either way...its a nice tidbit of info...but it doesnt mean a hell of alot now....this would be a pretty juicy fight though...especially a week for floyd/pac(although, like many, i have my doubts that is coming off in march)
