Anyone else think Khan might have overtrained? By fight night, he will have been in training for nearly 5 months. And he trained VERY hard for the Peterson rematch and I really do believe he would have stopped Peterson in the rematch as he was that determined.

So does anyone else think training hard for 5 months, flying to UK, USA, Philippines, lifting weights etc will have an affect on Khans performance?

Really hope it doesn't as I want him to destroy Garcia.

Yeah it's a fair point, haven't followed it to much but i'd presume he's had a week or so off?.

The main worry would be rust, this has to be Khan's longest lay off in career?. Or at least one of longest periods without a fight.

Yeah he did have a week or two off but I still think his body might be fatigued by fight but I really do hope I'm wrong.

And yeah 7 months is a long layoff

Yeah i can understand your worries, I'm always wary of fighters going from a camp then into another so soon. Has it's positives and negative affects. Could be in supreme condition, but as you say could be drained. Training for most of camp in U.S will undoubtedly be better then training in all different places.

Does Khan make the weight easy?, If so that will help. He has a new S&C coach on board who has experience so that's a good thing. I think he has enough experience around him to taper down at right time and hit peak levels.

How will he look without Ariza is a massive question has Tabares implemented a different regime or tried to stay near to what Ariza did with Khan, Plus how does Khan approach this fight mentally. So many questions because there's a lot of emotional aspects in this fight.

I think Khan is fairly disciplined so I do think he will make weight. But he does look huge this camp.

Also, the last time Khan was so muscular up top, his legs wern't very thick and he was getting hurt. Hope he hasn't done too much weights

Yeah someone other week kept going on about his biceps being massive, as you say the legs being strengthened helped massively. Tabares would be foolish to start bulking up the top half and forgetting the legs.

All his upper body looks huge. He does look in excellent shape but I think the body Ariza developed for Khan was more suited to him.

Would be good If khan sits down on his punches this fight.

Would be handy if Khan overtrained his brain for once, but all joking aside I hope Khan wins & then fights Kell Brook, I want to see Amir be the man to shut that smug **** up first.

i am more interested on how his fast he will be? All that weight training may cause some slowness to his usual rapid jabbing.

  11. I think he'll be fine he's a young man his body should be able to cope

    No chance ,

Being coached at that level in a gym like the wild card , you could never be over trained , he would of took breaks within the camp to ensure he doesn't burn out !!!

Khans problem will be ring rust , if he has any problems which i don't believe he will

Yeah, this could be a concern.

But by the looks of it, he seems to have paced himself ok in this camp. Everytime I've looked at his training updates he's been posting stuff about running the olympic torch, throwing a baseball at a game, being invited on the red carpet for the Spider Man premiere, etc.

Who knows. Seeing as though Ortiz looked like he might have overtrained, it's possible with Khan.

They did take time off before starting camp for this fight. I don't think it's much of a concern to be honest, it would take an incredibly stupid coach to not notice overtraining at that level.

Khan claimed that since move to Tabaras he has found the weight losing a lot better than he did with Ariza and is still has more strength.
