"There are still skeptics around at home but I always say that I'm the best, most exciting fighter Britain has had for a long, long time. You can put any name against me, but I know I'm the most exciting. A lot of people don't give me the credit I deserve but I fight because I love the sport and want to put on good shows. When I retire, the people who didn't think I was that good will think 'hang on, Amir was good after all'. I definitely feel more appreciated here than in the UK. At this moment in time, I'm getting more love in America from boxing fans.

    Turncoat.

Isn't he mad that he wasn't getting enough support back home, or they didn't show his fight on a certain channel?

Sounds like a suck-up to USA fans and a dig at Brits.

Excellent point, PFV. I'm on the fence but it's hard to disagree.

    Thanks man! :good

I recall recently that Khan was unhappy with like TV broadcasting of one of his fights in the UK. I remember something like he was going to have to look to greener pastures in the USA or something.

He's talking a lot lately. Lets hope he doesn't get too big for his boots and get stopped tomorrow.

SkySports pulled the plug (PPV) on his fight with McCloskey a week before the bout, making him lose a million. The undercard crumbled with injuries, and Sky, having staged the Haye-Harrison farce on PPV a few months earlier, realized they couldn't continue putting events on PPV if they're not worthy of it. Khan's team were annoyed with them for backing out at the last minute. SkySports then refused to put his potential fight with Bradley on PPV, too.

But these above statements aren't just directed at Sky. We, the UK fans, have a strong reputation of turning against our athletes. We don't like seeing our people become successful and rich. Within in minutes we begin branding them as arrogant ****s, etc.

The US, it seems, loves you the more successful you are.

Khan is the best British fighter by far, and god willing will unify the Light Welterweight division.

Totally agree with the King here.

I'd say, based on resume, Froch is best British boxer at the moment.

He may have ulterior motives/reasons for saying so (Obviously), but that doesn't make the statement any less true.
