Khan: "People In America Understand Boxing A Bit Better (Than The People In The UK)"

Anthony, there are a handful of posters on this very site that take the **** out of him because of his race. The issue exists. And unfortunately, it's not small enough to be ignored that easily.

 

The British will make a spectacle off of a fight with two 10-0 fighters. That's pretty damn admirable IMO. They're definitely more passionate about boxing than Amurrikah.

 

There's no denying that a portion of the people "hating" on Khan, do so for racist reasons...but I don't believe it's a significant portion like you say. And I genuinely don't believe I am being naive either.

Comparing Khan to the most popular British fighter since Frank Bruno(?) is not a valid comparison IMO. Khan was very popular when he turned professional, he picked up terrestrial boxing big time during that period. Of course he still had people who didn't like him (and I wasn't too fond of him at that point either)...but you can't get everyone to like you.

His first PPV, he got knocked out inside a minute, this surely had an effect on how people rated him, etc. At that point, people thought he was hype, probably angry that they bought into the hype...and wanted to see him lose.

I'm not saying the issue doesn't exist, but like always, IMO it is blown out of proportion. Like everything in life, there are people who ruin it for the rest...but they are not the majority. If they were the majority, BNP would be a hell of a lot more popular and significant in this country.

 

People dont hate on Khan cos they're racist you thick shits they hate him cos of this bollocks. Benn Watson Lewis to name a few all got major ****** followings. The bloke is deluded from his "best chin in boxing" to in essence "British fans know nothing". Take it from someone who was around all the Cotto Manny press conferences and weigh ins hardly anyone recognised him. Thats why he couldnt sell out the real MSG and had to fight upstairs in the little hall

Thing is though Khan talks shite. Shite like "I'm the best around" and "I'm already a great". He's done fock all of note to say such stuff. That's why not many in the UK take to liking him.

As for why he's bumming up America. Simples....MONEY HONEY.
