the point deductions were harsh and even if you take the points away i still had khan ahead by 2 rounds, peterson was caught on juice after the fight and instead of the fight being overruled as a NC peterson gets to keep the IBF and later defend it, it was a bit unfair if you ask me. I think the fight took allot out of khan as well, garcia was able to capitalize on it.
There wasn't much wrong with it, besides Peterson being on the juice of course. That was the only scandalous thing of that night. Khan was warned for his pushing time and time again and the deductions were legit. The referee was a bit favorable towards Peterson, but not extreme.
-Hometown ref -PEDerson on Testosterone pills -Dodgy ringside activities (hatman) random IBF official who wasn't authorized to be at that fight made his way ringside and was messing around with the cards and talking to a judge who 'felt ill' LOL... AND THEN entered the ring and had picture took with PEDerson & co? LOL http://www.independent.co.uk/incoming/article6286917.ece/ALTERNATES/w460/Pg-21s-hatman-ap.jpg This picture sum ups that bull****^ "wasn't much wrong with it" bull****.
it's funny how every other fighter gets **** for taking juice but when it comes to peterson taking it vs khan ''there isn't much wrong with it''atsch, i think khan has massive limitations as a fighter but to come out and say there was nothing wrong with a fighter taking PEDs and then reciving hometown help is beyond ridiculous, peterson deserved to lose that fight, but instead he was still the IBF champion.
Have you even read what I wrote? The ped thing was scandalous, but not the scoring and/or the point deductions in my opinion, wich was your point in the opening post was it not? :blood
The point deductions were fine he was warned and he did the fouls especially the one in round 12 where it was more of a forearm/elbow than a push Khan was also gifted a knockdown that was really a slip so it wasnt all one sided Didnt think Petersen won either but had it close As for the PEDS wasnt his positive test for the olympic style testing for fight 2? therefore it cancelled fight 2, the prefight test shouldnt overturn the result of the first fight I mean when Vargas or Toney tested positive did the previous fight get overturned, no it didnt
That's the whole elephant standing in the room. Peterson admitted he had used that stuff in the first fight wich wasn't caught then. A massive screwup of course, that (and that alone!) should have rendered the first fight void right there and then.
He did admit it, I had no idea...Mosley admitted it yrs later vs Oscar and thats not overturned Not trying to defend the guy but the procedure is such that a belt isnt handed back or a fight isnt changed
Close fight. I had Khan by 2 points but a couple of the rounds he took were close whereas Lamont won his pretty clearly.
when the fight was set up in Peterson's back yard, it was clear that some funky business was going to go down. we weren't let down on that front. so many dodgy things happened that night it was criminal.
