The thing thats bothering me abou the whole situation is the instant rewriting of history. Precott is now world class and there is no shame in Khan losing. (I'd like to quote Talksport and some posters on BBC) I think Khan should stay away from him but he will need to fight someone decent eventually. And he will be KO'd.
Then he shouldn't be running his mouth about how "he'd win if he got into the fight" or "just made it out of the first round." etc. If you're going to say that then it's far from stupid to take the rematch, it's necessary to back up the statements. Or else STFU.
I could be wrong -but did he not actually say 'He hit me with good punches before I'd got into the fight' or something Which, in truth, is slightly different to 'I'd have won...' Apologies in advance if I'm wrong, I'm working from memory. But this board has 'history' when it comes to twisting Khan's words.
How is Prescott world class? Name one world class fighter he has beaten, and don't say Amir Khan because we all know he's miles away from World class.
He may have said your version at some point too but I'm pretty sure he did say he thinks he would have gone on to win a fight which went past the first.
But Frazier wasn't a young up and coming fighter, he was already a world champion with a pretty distinguished career at that point. He was also 32 and it was three years after they first fought. Frazier had already proven himself so didn't really have much to lose from fighting Foreman again. Khan hasn't. Khan hasn't had a glittering career yet, he hasn't beaten any ATGs yet. If Khan fought Prescott again and lost in a similar fashion it may show that he has balls but it would be all over for him. A single bad loss can be spun as being a freak event, a second against the same opponent cannot.
But surely Sleazy you wouldn't be happy with this? After all, you don't like Calzaghe for allegedly 'cherry picking' his fights...and yet you believe this is the best tactic in regards to Khan even stating that it would be a 'great job done'... Surely, even if this is the best way to maximise Khans earning potential, you can't be happy with this approach as a boxing fan?
Khans glass jaw isn't going to be able to take any punchers punch, the guy is going to have to be matched with feather fisted punchers his whole career if he wants to do anything, totally exposed as a bum.
