Khan ready for Mayweather?

he beat a solid 140lber but who the hell has Khan fought that's an elite A+ fighter like Floyd Mayweather???

and please don't say he sparrs Manny Pacquiao because at the end of the day sparring is just practice, Pacquiao would kick the **** out of Khan in a real fight

 

Not yet, by far. He has a long way to go before he can even be competitive with Floyd.

Floyd has peakd' and he probably won't get any better but he is a fighter that can hang in this game a long time after he loses his physical gifts as an athlete (much like Bernard Hopkins) because of his ring IQ, and mastery of the fundamentals of boxing

he will beat Khan w/ his experience...he knows how to beat Kahn. He knows all his flaws and more importantly he can expose/exploit them

 

he could never ,ever beat mayweather, that much has always been obvious, hes beaten the boxer, hes beaten the puncher, but have no illusions, he could never beat mayweather, he just doesnt have that make up.

he has the ability to do anything and everything else, but that.

 

Mayweather will duck Khan.

before anyone slates me, let me ask, have you watched all of both mens fights? I have, from khan vs gethin, to khan vs bain, to khan vs limond, to khan vs maidana, to mayweather vs cooper, to mayweather vs castillo, to mayweather vs jmm.

seen them all, every second of every round, and khan will never beat mayweather.

 

What about Khan vs Cotto at Welter?

It'd be interesting to see what people think? I say Cotto takes him!

 

I can't see Khan beating Berto convincingly, and ... Mosley might be able to impose his strength. Mosley is still a bit quicker than Maidana, no? The accumulation might just get to him more and he gets more discouraged than Maidana does when the fight is not going well with him, used to starting off on top.

I don't see Khan being very effective against Floyd, too easy to hit with uppercuts and a lot of real real holes in his game. Maybe he wins a few rounds early on activity but Floyd is still light years ahead of a guy who still doesn't know what alterations to make to keep a slow predictable uppercut from landing consistently. But props to Khan for taking so many clean shots to his jaw.

 

Let's stop talking about Khan fighting Mayweather, it's silly.

Pac/May is the only fight that makes sense.

 

I actually think Cotto would be a bit reduced to a punchers chance because he would be giving up height and he looks sluggish sometimes. He has great timing but I wonder how he could take Khan's strong combinations. I feel this is a more pick em fight with the overall technique going to Cotto, but the workrate and speed and effective aggression going to Khan. The big question is if Khan could hold his plan when Cotto lands a perfectly timed sharp hook counter when Khan is coming in. Maybe. Maybe not. But maybe at 147 Cotto is too too strong.

 

Really... in my opinion- despite his FOTY victory last night, I have to see he hasn't beaten a leapfrog opponent that puts him in there with the A+ class fighters. This is not a post saying he couldn't hang in there with them, or even BEAT them. I am saying to become a champion is one thing, to take that champion and become legendary is another thing all together. I think before he can fight the best of his time, he needs to fight someone else who has fought guys like Pac and Mayweather and JMM as a measuring stick.

Sure- discuss how he'd do with the top 5 pfp, but while we see these conversations through, lets see him take on a Zab Judah, or a Shane Mosely, or dust off hatton for an english megafight, or even a Sergio Martinez, I think Sergio Martinez and him right now are the heir-apparent to the pfp throne... that would be electric

 

Sheezaz he beats a top 5 140er, not even a P4Per that is much slower, hittable and horrendously inaccurate Maidana and suddenly he can beat an ATG with ATG defense and ATG accuracy.

Age PBF 2-3 years. Let Roach work with Khan 2-3 more years and then you have a competitive fight. If PBF fought the Khan of last night, he would look amateurish vs PBF.
