Amir Khan said in the british press today, that he would be seen "As a Superstar if he was a white, and people boo me cause of the colour of my skin" What a tosser, people boo him cause he is a twat.
This comment really annoys me!! Can anyone remember how many white British fighters were on PPV before they were world champ?? None by my reckoning!!! How about Benn and Bruno?? 2 of the most popular British fighter in recent history...both not white!! Even his Dad called him a fool for saying this!!!
It's just not true. No British boxer has ever been given the chances Khan as, at such an early stage. None. The reason why he's been so hyped, is because he's Asian. Maybe people dislike him because he's overhyped, which is cause he's Asian, but very few dislike him because he's actually Asian.
If he really said that, Iv lost a lot of respect for him. He get's PPV for ****s sake, when it's not even anywhere close to a super fight. What a whining ****er.
So it has nothing to do with his Glass Jaw and him being about as protected as it gets? :huh Khan is feather fisted, fights like a robot, and is a runner. Nobody wants to watch that garbage.
People don't like him because of the hype. Its the same with all Olympians. They get overhyped, start to believe their own hype, talk too much when they are starting off, act like they're champions when they're fighting tomato cans etc. Khan had his own fvcking gym by the time he was 21! What has he done to deserve that?! Fair play that he's made his money quick and easy and his gym does excellent work in the community, but getting **** handed to you on a silver spoon doesn't endear you to the general public.
It was a stupid and unnecessary comment from Khan, but it's true that more than half of the haters think he's a twat because of race/religious issues. Pakistani UK citizens are not so beloved and the last 10 years of western anti-Muslim propaganda did it's job too.
Because of the media since 9/11, the race IMO which experiences the most racism are the asians such as pakistani's. I hear people openly call people "paki" used as a racial slur, never heard a non-black man call someone "******". He may have a point, that said the media has been very nice to him...although I dont think he will ever get the kind of following Hatton got. People saw Hatton as one of their own, doubt their gonna see a pakistani british as one of their own. He will attract a lot of fans, just different type.
Hardly a shocking statement. People always like to think theyre more special than they are perceived. Boo Hoo.
