If Khan was a ginger head pub goer, who plays darts and drinks pints like the average white man (excluding ginger head part). then he may have got/get more love.

He was starting to win people over by being quiet and working hard on his flaws, then he comes out with this **** and turns everyone off again.

    Bad career move.

edit: Given that all his hype came off the back of him "possibly being the next Hamed" just because of his skin (even though they're nothing alike as fighters or personalities), it's disingenuous of him to start attacking the same ignorance that had hitherto served him quite well.

There's a black president, meanwhile its being perceived by many of the general public that the asians from the middle east are the enemies of the western world. You only have to look at the media too, black people everywhere embraced, in music and films...how many pakistani's or asian stars do you see?

Its clear that the whole racists to blacks thing have more or less passed, in fact its "cool" to be black these days.

Not sure if Khan has a point, but the media definitely hasnt been to kind to asians since the 9/11.

The British people loved Hamed, this guys a complete tool. Sure time has passed but and people are more anti-muslim but its because he has been shoved down our mouths by the media and he's attitude that he isn't loved like Hatton. He doesn't have the most enduring personalities and has slagged of Britian quite a few times now.

He also got ktfo and didn't bother with a rematch, made excuses and has basically become a protected fighter.

He needs are PR company to turn his image around.

You believe that crap? DLH, Hatton, Pac? They weren't even the best. SSM, Josh Clottey, and Andre Berto can't buy fans! FMJ? Don't even make me start.

For the right or wrong of it the man has a point. Racism and nationalism or weird combinations of the two are rampant in boxing. Goes with the territory.

Question is this. Since Khan knows this, is he willing to play it to his advantage? Time to go ROGUE!!! :firedevi:

I read an article once that Hamed retired partly because of the anti-muslim media. Hamed was all pre-9/11, he retired shortly after that...course probably just a coincidence but thinking about it, if he was hated by many pre-9/11, just imagine this 5'3, arrogant, allah preaching mulim man post-9/11. He would be hated 10 fold.

Nigel Benn, Chris Eubank, Frank Bruno, Prince Naz and Michael Watson all had huge fanbase in the UK. Amir should stop crying like a baby, he hasn't achieved **** in the sport yet.

  14. Meh. I cant speak for other countries, but over here (Australia) black athletes are embraced and have MORE opportunities. They sort of take on some kind of "token" value. Anthony Mundine is ****ing huge in Australia. God knows why, tho.

He should keep his mouth shut and start winning fights convincingly, hes got alot of white fans who pay to watch him fight maybe the reason they boo is that he got knocked out by a supposedly inferior fighter. Colour never stopped guys like Nigel Benn, Frank Bruno and Prince Naseem being popular in Britain.
