I suppose to a certain extent I can agree with you but are there really so many of those "people" that it has held him back, in his opinion to his current popularity rather that being a "Superstar". It seems incredibly unlikely to me.

Why should he be a superstar at this point?

It's the very fact that he points to racism rather then toward some of his own negatives both in terms of his personality and his boxing career that makes me warm to him less.

In any sport I always prefer the guys that blame themselves first before criticizing others. Khan seems the total opposite of this, aways looking for someone or something else to blame.

And for the people saying he would be as popular as Hatton if he was white. Why would he? He has achieved nowhere near as much. It would be truly strange if he was at this point.

From my perspective if Khan achieves as much as Hatton and is still not a superstar then this topic would need to be revisited. But I believe that if he achieves that kind of success he will be embraced in Britain and beyond which renders this whole debate pointless.

Ultimately it's down to him and him alone whether he becomes a superstar. I don't believe racism could stop it.
