Some started to question the achievements of the little Filipino after jumping weight classes with ease. How could they not when you have some of the most recognizable figures in boxing like Oscar Dela Hoya, Paulie Malignaggi and the Mayweather brothers Floyd, Roger and Jeff chiming in? Backed with press releases published by USA Today, ESPN and most of the big sports publications, some people started looking at Pacquiao with slanted eyes (and they weren't even Filipinos.. kidding). I, however, saw it as a demolition job. After all, the damaging statements were backed up by nothing more than baseless speculations based on bogus reasoning.

As a result, Pacquiao fired back by filing a defamation suit against his accusers, and the fight of the century still hangs in the balance. One of Pacquiao's chief sparring partners, rising junior welterweight superstar Amir Khan, has repeatedly backed up his training mate. Khan used to take the same supplements Pacquiao takes under strength and conditioning coach Alex Ariza. ‘The drug rumors were upsetting, but I can honestly say that I have never seen anything like that happening,’ Khan was quoted by boxingfutures.com saying. ‘People always say when someone is successful: 'Ah, but they take drugs, don't they?' Well, in my case it's simply not true, nor is it in Manny's." Khan no longer works with Ariza after a falling out following a disagreement that involved money and contracts after his most recent fight against Marcos Maidana.

Also in response to the allegations, Ariza is disclosing all the supplements and nutrients that Pacquiao is taking on the MPBoxing.com website. Ariza will be blogging and answering questions from fans about his nutrition program he has set up for the 8-division champion Pacquiao.

In his most recent entry, Ariza discussed Pacquiao's protein intake and wrote:

    "Protein, Is it too much?

Remember, not all protein gets absorbed. No matter how much protein you ingest. Not all the amino acids from the protein will actually get to where you want them to go.

We spoke on this in our blog detailing stress and cortisol.

During a workout, Manny Pacquiao’s body goes through a stressful event. During this stressful event his body begins to release cortisol. We need to counteract the body feeling stressed. We do not want it to begin eating off itself. Since your body is now depleted after a workout it will be looking for somewhere to find calories to burn. The first place it will look is from the muscle.

By making sure Pacquiao gets adequate protein and amino acids will help to prevent any negative effects we do not want to happen.

The body is also depleted of glucagen after a workout, so when you eat your first meal with white rice and fruits it will cause a good insulin spike, carrying those amino acids to the muscle cells.

When we do a protein shake immediately after eating it is to make sure Manny Pacquiao gets enough protein. For someone to think it is a waste of protein, because they have also consumed some beef or chicken is dead wrong." (Go to MpBoxing.com for the full entry)

I know people who take HGH and there hands and head have continued to grow.
    Manny has a MASSIVE head.

I find it odd people can be so dismissive of the fact he may have taken HGH, and I find his resistance of taking olympic style drug tests alarming. However, that's not enough to convince me one way or the other.

Testimonials of people with a vested interest in his success also doesn't convince me.

Christ! He looks like a bobblehead! No wonder he is so easy to hit. No wonder also that he is able to resist punches so readily with that elephant dome.

The visual evidence alone is a pretty compelling arguemnet that Emmanuel is using.

You are spot on,what else did people expect Ariza to say?Did you want him to come up and say 'Oh I give Manny performance enhancing drugs?' Of course not.

As for Amir Khan saying he hasnt taken anything.Isnt it that he stopped taking Ariza's pills after his test before the Maidana fight was said to be suspicious. Is it any wonder that Khan was fading as the fight went on?

pac has always had a massive head when compared to his body. great b&w pics of him when he was still a flyweight training with run-down equipment in a very dreary boxing gym clearly show this.

look for the pics in this forum. those are great photos of pac that will turn out to be classic boxing pics many years from now.

    You are ******ed.

Here is a steroid expert, Victor Conte commenting on head size and PEDs on twitter.

"ESPN's Lester Munson reports "Growth in head size is a known side effect of steroid use," which is simply not true and makes no sense"

oh yea, I guess Hatton is on roids too:

hahahaha he has a big head because of his big brain, and u compare him with small headed people with small brains. u can see it 10 years from now, the life of pac and floyd. pac is still rich and influencial but floyd will be living in jail or the streets bragging his boxing exploits with no body wanted to hear but his avid lowlife fans like marshmallow and u hahahah. boxing is not forever, life outside the ring is.

Whats your point? Both are used for growth development regardless, and I never said they were. And if you are reffering to the Conte quote, you have to be a dumbass to not see that in context. Here is the context, *****s have been accusing Pac of taking steroids, EPO, HGH, A-side meth, all kinds of PED's and according to these guys, his head size is a testimony to that. Conte is simply verifying, that isnt the case!
