Thoughts on this? Will khan become a student of the game and return as a slick fast defensive/offensive beast?

Hunter is a conman who happened to stumble across a brilliant fighter in Ward. He will not make Khan a better fighter.

Its a good thing. SRR and SRL used their offensive gifts well but never sacrificed defense bc of those gifts if you know what I mean. Khan has size and reach and should not be fighting the way he does bc it makes it hard on him. With that speed and reach he should have a world class jab by now but he was too busy trying to fight like Manny. What this shows me is that Hunter is stripping Khan down and building him back up.

The problem is Khan will likely go back to his old self once he gets hit.

i think its great when your on your way up, Khans had years of doing it the wrong way, dont know if a few tapes are gonna save him, mighta helped when he was in the ams

might be too little too late, i think more fighters should do this but is mid career the way to go

Won't hurt to study the best & try to implement some elements of their game.
One problem tho, Those men had ONE thing Khan don't have & can't learn.

very true, But I don't think khan's chin is that bad, he takes punches flush, if he turned to boxing behind the jab, those chin issues won't really come into play, because there really isn't that type of fighter around with boxing skills and good footwork and power.

hell no. he's too jittery, stiff, and uncoordinated.

all he has is speed but no fluidity or rythym.

Tbh don't expect Khan to be transformed... it takes time to rectify flaws. I've seen some interviews of Khan and he looks humbled; see's boxing as a bussiness now... not a revenge game... he say's he's gonna have a patient attack... looking at tapes is only a good thing... virgil takes a keen interest in khan... he found it strange tht khan never did kneck exercises and was let down by so many s&c regimes... his body got imbalanced.

With this said, I think any and every fighter poses a threat to Amir. You just don't know when that crystal will get tapped. It's hard to watch a Khan fight... he's vulnerable. Hope Virgil teaches him how to clinch and or fight going backwards.

Progress isn't seen in the gyms but in the fight it self... we won't know the state Khan is in until the first bell.

So what if he gets knocked down... it's the decisions he makes after the KD that screw him over. He needs to harness that speed as he is too ahead of himself. He's also said tht he's not gonna fight for the crowd/fans but himself. Slowly but surely he's realising that haters are out after him full force. One more loss and he's finished.

Those guys had way, way too many natural gifts to begin to try and emulate, particularly Robinson. He fought on almost 100% instinct (his own words). You can't teach two-fisted dynamite or punch resistance and recuperative powers that see you go 25 years and 200 fights without being stopped.
