you are joking right? Khan was never box office, his fights that were on box office in the UK sums up what was wrong with boxing. Crap fights on ppv alienating people from boxing. No one fights on ppv in america except from may/pac. JCC vs Martinez was just an exception. Oh and ticket seller in the US? Not many fighters are ticket sellers in the US.

 

Amir Khan has got a mouth, and people tune in to see him get shut up. Ticket sales hardly mean **** in this day and age, its all about PPV and box office numbers.

If that isnt the case, then why doesnt Floyd Mayweather shut up about paying to see him on PPV all the time?

If it wasnt the priority, they'd be pushing the ticket sales to the max and trying to fill arenas. It works both ways, you need 2 strong names to sell out, you need a big fight. Mayweather is much bigger than Amir Khan, and sells out regardless of opponent. Amir Khan needs a big fight to sell out arenas.

We live in a different age now. Its all about PPV buys.

With the exception of Mayweather and Pacqauio no one fights on PPV on a consistent basis and generates big money.

Khan is a massive draw no question about it, many tune in for his vulnerable and exciting style, many tune in to watch him get KOed and many are just his fans. But the point being, people tune in and no one is indifferent.

I was there in Madison Square Garden, NY for his US debut against Malignaggi. And what surprised me was that Khan had more support than Malignaggi in his own home town.
