Don't know what you propaganda campaign against Khan is in aide of, but it's pretty pathetic.

Well in a way he has. He's the interim champion, had he wanted and requested the fight, Khan would have to fight him, or be stripped.

Guess what? Khan's still champion, so Maidana is in the same boat as Povetkin.

Ok Khan may hav got the goldenboy suits on him, but there's nothign wrong in what he says, Maidana refused to take the fight lol

Nah' it's a bit more complicated than that. Khan would of vacated his belt and ran away if Maidana wanted that title shot right now. Golden Boy's people will of offered Maidana a bit of $$$ and a promise of a shot in 2/3 fight's if he step's aside now. In my opinion Golden Boy are keeping Maidana away from Khan until if/when Maidana loses, then if/when that happen's, they'll discredit him as an opponent due to his loss

There was a journalist who mentioned in passing that GBP asked Maidana to step aside so Khan could fight Malignaggi. They thought this would build interest for a fight in the future, since HBO would be boosting that during the broadcast if Khan wins.

I don't think Khan ducked Maidana, but it probably wasn't a smart fight to make as a business cause, if Khan loses his first fight on US tv, then he's got nowhere to go.

 

Khan chats so much **** it's unreal. @ Thought of Maidana quaking in his boots at thought of fighting King Khan.

I think he probably did duck Maidana for the reason you mention above. The fact that Roach came out before and mentioned its a fight they didn't want,he may have even relinquished his title.

Nothing wrong with doing that,esp as Maidana took cash to dealy the fight. He's still young and its a fight that will only get bigger providing both men keep winning.

 

Khan is correct. Maidana had the chance to enforce a fight and chose not to. When interviewed he said that his manager had advised him to take a couple more fights first to build his profile in America. This is the kind of thing you people usually refer to as 'ducking' isn't it?

And Cobbler, your laying the blame at Maidana for accepting being paid off? You want him to burn his bridges with possibly the strongest promoter to get his shot?
