I have tried to reserve an opinion on Khan until he faces truly quality opposition. In reality he has done very little despite the fact he is a world champion, he never fought the best of British, he beat the worst world champion on the planet and defended it against a man who I honestly think I could have beat, but by the way he has been carrying on recently you would think he had KOd Manny and Mayweather on the same night.

He may turn out to be that good (although I doubt it) but why can't he just keep his mouth shut until he gets there as it makes him look like a complete *****, an illiterate one at that.

    Probably still not true.

    Bradley
    Kotelnik
    Urango

would be my ranking of the champions at that time.

Maidana could of forced the fight or stripped Khan of the title, both are co promoted with GBP.

Maidana went on record and said his manager said he should build his name up with a few more fights in the U.S then have a big money fight with Khan.

Plus Paulie was a main event name for a unknown Khan in the U.S and a bigger money fight than Maidana.

Khan and Roach have said recently they want the winner of Bradley vs Maidana after they beat Paulie.

Urango would have been a more dangerous option, much higher KO ratio. Arguably Kotelnik is a better fighter, but he's much more suited to Khan.

It was the definition of cherry picking.

Not really sure there's a lot of evidence that someone needs to be a huge puncher to trouble Khan.

Christ. Khan's parents really need to confiscate his laptop, he seems to make a bigger tit of himself by the day.

No, I was questioning your assumption that a bigger puncher is a more dangerous opponent for Khan. I think you read what I wrote the wrong way.

If Khan's punch resistance is as bad as is generally held to be, then someone like Kotelnik possesses more than enough power to get the job done. And being a far better boxer than Urango, he stands more chance of landing a shot that will hurt Khan than does Urango.

    Different poster

I dont believe Khans chin is that bad that Kotelnik was a big risk to it. How badly do you rate his chin?

Of course every boxer has the ability to throw a knockout punch, but some do it regularly, some do it rarely. Urango would throw a lot of big punches, Kotelnik would throw very little.

Kotelnik is a defensively minded fighter. Urango is an aggressive fighter, who is always pushing forward into his opponent throwing wild swings.

He is more likely to land a KO shot because at least he would be throwing punches that would KO Khan. Kotelnik's style allowed Khan to build up points without too much risk.

Who do you think is more dangerous for Khan?

Warren and Khan clearly felt Urango was more dangerous and thats why Kotelnik was chosen.

At present it is difficult to know how bad his chin is, I guess it is possible that Prescott just caught him cold and unaware however the seeming reluctance to put him in with a puncher since suggests there are serious concerns there.
