Maidana's confidence wont be the same as if was post Broner and pre Floyd II.

Maidana is a step backwards for Khan, he already beat him and Maidana is coming off two losses, he lost to Alexander too.

Maidana didn't beat Floyd, he lost clearly, twice.

Khan has improved a great deal and so has Maidana. That would be a great fight and it would answer a lot of questions for me. If Khan can get past this Maidana then his stock goes way up for me.

He doesn't need the fight, nothing in it for him. He has already beaten two Maidana level guys in Alexander and Collazo. To fight Maidana again would not be a step forward.

That's a scared man's comment. Todays Maidana would have knocked out both Alexander and Collazo.

Spare me man, today's Maidana almost got stopped by Josesito Lopez to the body and went life and death with Karass. Nobody has knocked out Alexander or Collazo at the highest level.

People get an inflated view of fighters after they share a stage with Mayweather and Pacquiao. The likes of Ortiz, Guerrero, Algieri and Maidana etc are the same as what they were before they got the shot, C+/B- fighters. Scoring a UD over an overhyped Broner doesn't alter that.

Maidana is a good mid-level welterweight who is an average draw in the US. Khan is looking at top-level welters who are a big draw in the US. Maidana is a step backwards at this point, particularly given Khan has already beaten him.

Of course it would be a step forward, Khan is on the same level as
Maidana and Alexander. Collazo is not on the level of any of those three.

How is it a step forward to fight someone on the same level when you've just done that? you want to step up to the next level.

Collazo hasn't fought since Khan but I can guarantee you he gives Alexander and Maidana a good fight, even this version.

Khan will not fight a puncher unless he absoloutly has to for a title. He will fight bradley next imo as hes a top welter with little power and very winnable and a great scalp

Same level different style, it would be a step forward because Khan has fought "0" punchers since his "rejuvenation". How is that not a step forward. He (or his people), have strategically avoided any punchers in this rebuilding phase.

I dont believe Collazo does not matchup well vs. Alexander or Maidana, Maidana will throw and win on activity alone, Alexander when he is on is too active as well and moves.

As you said, Maidana's on the same level (at best), there is nothing to be gained from it career-wise beating a guy ranked below him coming off two losses who is not a big draw and who he has already beaten.

Pacquiao hasn't faced a puncher after his "rejuvenation" from KO either but nobody has a problem with him fighting Mayweather. Adding in these random rules for Khan is just childish and smacks of an agenda.

I can see the argument for him fighting Brook, but fighting Maidana takes him nowhere.

Porter beat the brakes off Alexander and Collozo got a good shot in and knocked out of all people Ortiz. If I'm not mistaken, didn't Maidana stop both Lopez and Karass. Put Khan's fights in perspective and he ain't really did that much. Maidana is every bit on Khans level and stands a real good chance of stopping him. Khan hasn't fought anybody that's gonna put the pressure on him like Maidana and that's what I wanna see him come through. He needs to face that dragon.

    Didn't Alexander whitewash Maidana?

He doesn't need to face him, moreover he already has faced him - and beat him. Go back and watch it if you want to see it again, the video is on youtube.
