correct me if i'm wrong (and i probably am!) but i thought a fighter wasn't considered down until the ref rules it a knockdown.

i don't think this one as blatant as say barrera - marquez (?)

    1. It was not intentional.
    2. Khan was throwing like a 100 punches in wild flury and he hit Kristanjen in heat of it.
    3. Kristjansen gloves DID NOT touch the canvas he was sitting down with both his gloves up against covering his face. Now WTF is that. A knock down is scored when a fighters gloves touches the canvas. So technically Khan was allowed to hit him and besides the Ref had not stepped in.

Only Khan hatres that cant stand his success are saying Khan should've DQed.

With the first knockdown the ref had already called it, and was moving in. It did look as if Khan paused to briefly consider his actions, before deciding to throw the punch. This was naughty, but for the second "offence", Kristjansen was sagging on the ropes, so for me it was more ambiguous, and I can't blame Khan for continuing to punch.
Although it looked bad at the time, I do believe a bit too much is being made of it all. Yes, he could have been DQ'd, but that would have caused far more controversy, and would have benefitted nobody. If Vann had docked a point (or even two) from Khan and allowed Kristjansen some time to recover, then he would have been seen to be fair, whilst the outcome would have been the same.

I agree with this. Only the last punch on the first knockdown I thought was out of line. And he did pause like he knew he shouldn't throw it and then couldn't quite stop himself.

But even if there was a split second pause, the referee had not stepped in. Kristanjsen had both his hands up against his face and was sitting down against the ropes. Isnt a knock down when the hand or knee touches the canvas? In this case neither did as Kristansens was sitting against he ropes so technically Khan could have hit him. It was borderline situation but as expected Khan haters are making too much about it.

No, a DQ loss is way too harsh but Khan should've known better.

It was not intentional, Khan isn't a dirty fighter like Ricky Hatton.

If you watch the fight again... from his angle you wouldn't be able to tell if his knees touched the floor because of the way he went down... it is like a blind spot.

In the interest of impartial ref-ing intentional or not it deserved to have a point deducted.

Think Kristjansen should perhaps have also been given more time to recover.
