loads off people wanted khan to lose, i suspect his fans will still be intrested in watching him , well certainlly there wont be a big paycheck as the 1 he recived for the fight with prescott but bring him back on normal sky, have him demolish a few up and comers then try and gain a titlle,

nobody would even think of paying for a khan PPV unless it was under Hatton,

his career will become more intresting now than it ever had been before

A year out would not be good for him.
If he wants to still box then he should go to America and get a top quality trainer and better sparring partners and work on everything.

He would still have to get extremely fortunate even with Warren's help. Say they did get a Kristjansen type ranked 1/2, the title would have to be vacant.

Casamayor/Campbell each hold a piece of the WBO at the moment with Guzman, Peterson, Diaz, Katsidis ranked.. It's likely to be tied up with punchers for the foreseeable future :yep

    Good point TFFP

The only title likely to be held by a non-banger in the near future is the WBC, which will most likely to be vacant when Pacquaio challenges Hatton for the IBF 140lb strap.

But - Khan won't be highly ranked by the WBC, and if he is to remain with Warren he won't go near a WBC title anyway.

Quiz question - excluding Calzaghe, who was the last SN fighter to challenge for/win a WBC title?

I can't think of any since Frank Bruno

    WBC Rankings (before last night)

    1. Santa Cruz
    2. Pitalua
    3. Antillon
    4. Khan - how did he get here?! :-(
    5. D. Diaz
    6. A. Peterson
    7. Romanov

Pretty weak skill level by normal standards, but no genuine pillow dusters in there. Infact, Pitalua and Antillon are big punchers. Diaz, Peterson and Romanov are well respectable too. NO luck here Amir!

yeh tis unlikely. but not impossible.

by the way, do you see guzman as a puncher at lightweight? he hasn't stopped anyone since his super-bantamweight days. not that it will make a difference to khans chin i guess

Not at all. But he's got such good variety and speed he's not going to have trouble catching Amir cleanly is he? Weaker puncher than Limond? :think

This was obviously coming to Khan, if not last night, then it would have been before any world title.

He DOES have talent, his speed is his power, but with that chin he just won't make it.

If it hadn't happened in the 1st round last night, it would have happened at some point in the fight. Prescott was a quicker puncher than everyone seemed to believe, we knew he could bang but he looked pretty sharp as well.

I think a year out wouldn't be good for him. He will still make a good european level boxer, and he will probably beat some of the euro champs if he sticks at it.

Thats the truth. The blue print is there to beat him now. All he can do is mill around the domestic scene picking up a few pay days. Unless Khans hunger changes - which is unlikely seeing as his already made - he`ll just be another Audley Harrison.
