Thank Christ, a bit of sense towards the end of this thread!

I'm not having a go at Khan for (not) dodging anyone, nor am I gonna dance in the streets because he's taken this fight. As already stated, Maidana is nothing more than a gate keeper with a dig!

Flip the question round, what will people be saying if Maidana actually upsets the apple cart? "Fair play to Khan, he took on a dangerous opponent and came out worse off" or "Told you he was overrated."

    It will be the latter.

For the avoidance of doubt, Khan will walk to a UD. I also think he'd beat most in the division. But he doesnt deserve a parade for taking this fight.

I think Khan should knock him out rather than dance around and get a decision. That is only making life dangerous if they are setting out to go 36 minutes with a puncher that carries power until the final bell, he hurt Kotelnik late.

Khan can frustrate him early and get Maidana into a desperate situation and then take advantage with good counterpunches. He should have the power to stop Maidana.

Too mad? I haven't got anything against Khan, he showed a lot of character to bounce back, but I'm not going to hug his nuts for facing his mandatory.

    ...Has the world gone mad?

It's more the fact that he's got a glass jaw and his mandatory is a big puncher. That's why people are giving Khan so much praise.

    He's the fcuking bollox.

No boxer has electrified an olympics like that in nearly 20 years. He didn't leave the ams til he proved he was the best. Like Lennox - he wants to be the best. (Like PBF at lightweight - when people said he really lost to Castillo, he made sure he rematched and beat him properly).

I'd like to see him fight Prescott, that's the only thing. Offer him all the money in the world. Then stop him after six or seven rounds of a total boxing lesson.

He has a terrible chin and boxing fans generally don't like that, which is ludicrous when you think about it. But I think the fact that he is a world champ with that awful weakness shows just how talented he is. If the opposition touch that chin he loses. But his talent means that they generally can't. Incredible, really.

Before anyone criticises my previous post, this is pretty much true as well.

Calm down man...he's fought the robotic Kotelnik and Salita who was completely out of his depth as was evident. He didn't even have a chance to land punches. I hardly think on this basis Khan has proven that very few can get to his chin.

    Khan ain't that great imo.

Too tense, can't box up close or lean on an opponent, doesn't conserve energy. In general he's just very one-dimensional.

Reminds of a little kid in there with all his nervous energy.

He should improve though and it will be interesting to see what happens.

Yeah, fair points. But they're up among the best in a division that is considered loaded but actually isn't. And you can't deny a boxing clinic against a WBA champ and a blow-out of a mandatory (a poor one, mind).

If he fights Prescott - no matter if he loses every fight by 30 second ko), I think my points would show themselves accurate.

I wonder how must/if any extra power Khan has attained since he joined with Roach's team. He smashed Salita in one round - but how much had that to do with additional power or simply that Salita had a china chin?:think

Maybe one-dimensional is going too far but there's SOMETHING about him, which I can't quite put my finger on, that makes me doubt him.

I can imagine him being absolutely knackered after five rounds with someone like Bradley.
