Showtime say they have made a big lomg term investment in khan and hope he remains with them for the remainder of his career. Thought id share this as alot of people were saying khans marketability has gone down hill. Added to this is tge fact that team khan picked showtime over a hbo deal. This was announced at the presser today. Espionoza refering to him as "one of 5 of the top most recognized boxers in the US. "

HBO would not have offered Khan a deal.

HBO lost big on their khan investment thinking he was the next hatton, they even bought the khan vs mcklosky fight. I think showtime will be more astute with their money and not throw it at khan.

Considering the licence fees for Showtime are a lot lower than HBO, I think that speaks volumes about Khan's marketability.

It's more to do with Golden Boy moving more or less their whole stable across to Showtime (Broner's the only one still on HBO)

edit: And Showtime get a lot less viewers than HBO.

HBO would not have approved the Molina fight though. They turned down Soto ffs.

But it's sad how things are going in the States with Top Rank exclusively on HBO and GBP mainly on Showtime. Sort of like the Eddie/Sky and Wazza/Boxnation thing in the UK :-(

From what I've seen the Yanks loved him, his vulnerability only adds to his marketability in my opinion

If Khan has a "decent following" in the US, why can't he sell any tickets over there?

:deal imo he should come back over here and try and rebuild whilst being a big ticket seller, then take on a few american names if all goes well (ortiz/alexander whoever) then go back over there and give it another crack

Golden Girl have probably been told to make good fights rather than putting good fighters in **** fights, with the new regime at HBO.

Formerly known as ''Headed by Oscar'' :hey

They are aiming to sell 15-20 k tickets for this fight. Doubt they will get that high but he will stoll do a decent number. U have to rememba 5k plus is decent over there.
