Khan signs new deal with Warren

Dennis Hobson did a decent job with Hatton, and has done great with Clinton Woods, getting him some really big fights and keeping him in there, after the loss to Glen Johnson.

I don't feel he is really able to get a guy starting out and take him to the top though - but he would be fine with Khan. Great thing about Hobson is that he appears to give a damn about his fighters and is prepared to listen to them and get them the fights they want, whereas Frank Warren insists that they do as they are told.

I think everyone on here knows that I am a Hennessy hater - I feel he does nothing other than boost the ego of his fighters and gets them cheap publicity on the back of other British fighters that are more successful at that time, and when he speaks you can actually smell the bull**** through your speakers.

Maloney isn't bad though, in all departments.

It depends on the length of the deal agreed. Warren will only put guys in with decent opposition if they are on short term contracts - three year deals allow him to do as he likes. His father seems to be pretty smart as far as £££ are concerned so he will be aware of what Amir's earning potentials are. A multifight deal can mean anything from two fights to the remainder of one's career.

Put it this way - I would be willing to bet a fair amount of wedge that Khan will leave Sports Network at some point. He has too many people blowing smoke up his arse for him to bow down to Frankie.

At this point in time, it's probably a pretty good move for Khan.

He needs to stop trying to be world champ tomorrow, that way only lies a painful beating, and Warren's hyper-cautious approach is actually a good one for Khan at the moment.

If he can get a good trainer like Roach on board as well, he can have a few fights at UK and Euro level to adjust to the new training.

Khan's not even 22 yet, the mad rush to be champ seems foolish to me.

 

I think they going to go for Budy McGirt, the Khan gravy train will derail within the next year if that is the case.

BUT according to the BBC Khan is in the USA looking at 4 US trainers to pick one for himself.

 

It's more accident than design, but it's true nonetheless

If Khan does maybe 7 or 8 fights more with Warren before stepping up for a title shot in 2010 it'll do him no harm, he'll only be 23

And to be honest I'm not even convinced he'll be ready in 7 or 8 fights

The one thing he can't afford is Warren to let the oposition stagnate, for his age and number of bouts Khan's record is good. It just needs to steadily progress now.

Without the hyperbole and expectation levels we'd be much more excited about him... he's still a very good prospect.

 

Idiot this was his chance to sign for Golden Boy. Then again he would have got a title shot straight away which is not a good thing.
