I was referring to his lack of infighting.... I'm a Wlad fan - he could probably still be champion in about 20 years time if he wanted. Nobody is anywhere near him. Aside from changing the rules he's not losing any time soon. By this I'm talking about tying a hand behind his back or forcing him to give the opponent a free swing X number of times per round.
It was catastophic for him at 135lbs. It was catastophic for him at 140lbs. It will be catastophic for him up at 147lbs. He just cannot take a shot, weight divisions , training nor anything else is involved here. The man simply does not posess any kinda of chin whatsoever.
We know Khan can beat Malignaggi with ease, he'd beat Senchenko too, but then what? It's not like Paulie and Senchenko are big money fights and at some point if he's fighting the top names at Welter somebody is going to brutally knock him out. Bailey would spark him with the first clean shot.
I think he is about 2-4 years away from having a welterweight frame. He is light welter allover. I dont know why there has been so much talk of him moving up, Mayweather aside.
Brook is the obvious fight to make and that would sell. He could even rematch Maidana should he wish given the excitement of the first fight. Baileys a puncher and not much else and saying Khan would get sparked with 1 punch is an over-exaggeration. Its certainly feasible for him to beat him and pick up a belt.
Surprisingly, Garcia was only 150. One pound heavier than what Khan was, i think. I think it's a good decision to stay at 140. He made the weight easy according to him and Ruben. Other than money, I see no good reason to force him up against bigger, stronger fighters that would crush him.
i clearly remember khan stating he could not make 140 any more and he struggled to make weight does he remember saying this so why the sudden change of heart?
No, i distinctly remember watt making a deal out of the in ring weight difference in the first round. Garcia was like 10lb's heavier
he said there wasn't many which I agree with. And the ones there are are "good" but not great. Ward for example, he's good at sticking to a guy on the inside and frustrating them, but he's not exactly coming inside and demolishing guys Joe Frazier style. yet he'd probably be called the greatest inside fighter today It's a dying art imo, the fact that you have short, power punching heavyweights trying to fight the klits outside is an indictment on current boxing
Respect to Khan as there are no real easy fights at 140ibs. Marquez Matthysse Rios Alvarado All tough possible opponents.
