It really seems to be the case. Prescott did him, Maidana was smacking him around and got him in big trouble, Peterson roughed him up (ok was on peds, but still) and Garcia put him away. On the flip side, he dominated Malignaggi and Zab Judah as part of his notable wins but he had the height and reach on them. Now i'm not hating on him, but i'm sorry unless you are a one punch KO artist, its crazy to fight big strong opponents with the style he employs. He doesn't have the big punch, a fight changer to get him out of trouble. He is able to dominate the smaller guys because of his reach, but those with similar height and reach, he struggles. Add to the fact that he fights wild and undisciplined against bigger opponents because he wants to try and make a statement but he's not a puncher, he's a boxer, with decent power, lightning speed and a good jab. Where is the jab? It was the perfect shot to use last night, he could have boxed and put rounds in the bag just with the jab is he was smart, and maybe tried for a KO later, as Garcia was getting cut and marked up. Stupid fight from Khan, should really have just calmed down and boxed behind his jab. I think Manny Steward would be the ideal trainer now. Get him to calm down, get a defense, learn to get in and out of range and control the distance. Because when you get to this level, and opponents are not 5ft6 and can bang, he can't expect to fight like an idiot and try and meet fire with fire. Stick to the boxing, and fix up that defense. It's a dangerous sport and if he gets beat up like that again, he really does need to take a long hard look and assess his boxing career or else he will be at risk of getting brain damaged by the time he is 30.
