Malignaggi is a natural counterpuncher wheras Khan we have seen him in his earlier fights go forward and be the attacker. Paulie would never go on the offensive he never has done and wouldn't change his style for one fight. Khan is a light hitter too and it would be a battle of the one-two merchants but Paulie has head movement and has fought the elite and come through tremendous wars. Khan has had no defence throughout his career only in the Kotelnik fight did he have his hands up after every combo.

Hatton fight was a clear off night which should have never been stopped. Even paulie said after that fight that buddy was training him wrong. N'Dou got beat twice in clear UDs doesn't matter is he landed a few shots he still beat and dropped him. Cotto. He was cut from the first 30 seconds of that fight yet lasted the distance and won about 4,5 rounds not forgetting Cotto was a beast a few years ago.

Paulie is too slick and I can see him making Khan look amateruish.

Malignaggi not changing his gameplan is exactly why he'd lose. He can't change his gameplan, he has no power and can't put combinations together coming forward. If Khan's jab is the more effective, which I predict it will be, Malignaggi ain't gonna have a choice but to come forward or he loses 120-108 battling from the outside.

Why do you assume he would suddenly revert to coming forward and making clown mistakes? You saw the gameplan against Kotelnik, that is an indication of what to expect under Freddie Roach. Use his natural assets, safety first approach, keep the defence tight. No reason to think he's gonna come out swinging just because its Malignaggi, the Kotelnik fight is likely going to be a blueprint for how Khan at least approaches the early part of a fight.

You can make excuses for all Malignaggi's fights but he gets hit a lot, he's easy to hit. Simple observation. He's not a slickster like he thinks he is, his reflexes aren't that good considering his hands are down.

Anyway, we'll see. I'm 95% confident Khan wins that fight, we'll see.

Exactly my thoughts. Malignaggi is a good fight for Khan -- big name and a good fighter, but not a stupidly risky fight.

I think Juan Diaz would be tougher whatever the outcome of his rematch with Malignaggi. Diaz is a guy that can naturally pressure fight, he can get inclose and make it rough, he can work you hard, he can throw to the head and body. Not the hardest puncher but if he put enough pressure on Khan from the outset he might get some luck later in the fight when Khan tires. When Diaz is really fired up like he was against Marquez he seems to find a way to be relentless and close the gap even though he's relatively slow. If he can do it against Marquez you gotta say he's going to give Khan something to worry about.

I watched this interview. He didn't even say that =S Its on the skysports website, he didn't say he was ready for them at all. He was talking about where he would like to be in a few years time, he said he still has a lot to learn but he wants to get to that level.

Juan Diaz is faster than most give him credit for imo. His combos are rapid. Malinaggie is imo quicker or at least as quick as Khan with more experience to boot. Fighters rarely have an easy night with Paulie whether or not they win or lose. Juan Diaz has put away much better fighters than Amir imo and Warren would do well to keep Khan away from him.

Marquez would kill him too imo.

Diaz looked great against most opposition up till Campbell. He can be out-muscled, and he struggles when cut it seems. Against Marquez he did well early and thought he could keep eating Marquez's shots. Once Marquez adjusted to Diaz's rhythm, he was starting to take over - then he flattened him.

Khan, if he keeps on his toes, and keeps firing that jab, can win. But Diaz has good footwork, cuts the ring off well, and puts multiple shots together with high accuracy. That will cause Khan problems.

It's probably the best fight out there for Khan - Diaz is a good name, maybe a little on the downside, and has height/reach/speed disadvantages that give Khan a good opportunity to rack points up early.

That said, I felt he beat Malignaggi in a close fight.

Khan beats Malignaggi - I don't know why people think paulie's that special. He's a whining cry baby of a fighter.
