Khan To Get: Roach, Nazim Richardson and Ariza Trio
I spoke to Asif Vali, He said they are making changes in the camp, Roach is going to be kept but they are hiring Nazim Richardson who will be with Khan throughout the entire training camps, Roach going away and traveling will work with Nazim Richardson, Vali said that Bernard Hopkins made the recommendation to Team Khan post Garcia fight and Bernard has said he has worked with both before and had no problems. Ariza will be back again to replace Ruben Tubares, A new contract is being discussed with Ariza, and Nazim Richardson has agreed in principle to train Khan with Roach still being the head trainer.

    Source?

If true, that's a great choice. I never thought he should leave Freddie, as he's the one who gave him the fundamentals for his outside fighting style he's had so much success with. Khan's discipline and defensive responsibility were what were lacking, and if Roach is too busy to fill in the gaps, someone like Nazim is perfect for that job. He's worked with Roach as a second before, and he knows the offensive and defensive techniques necessary for a well-rounded fighter.

This is not Freddie's first rodeo. At this stage of his career, there are no more heights to scale. So long as he gets a check, he'll be content ta hold a towel.

    But that wasn't always so.

Watched a similar arrangement -- fraught with tension -- when Freddie was picked ta co-train Wlad Klitschko with his German trainer.

I know one fighter who wouldn't react too well to that 'swim without getting wet' philosophy...

He'll win a few fights then lose again. There's different tiers in boxing, and Amir just isn't that good. With all the hype and support he gets, it makes people want to believe he's a future HOFer for sure

^^ Is how he sits and will likely remain. At best, he'll get up to where Bradley is.

dissapointed if true. Id prefer if Khan was fully under the tutelage of a densively minded firm trainer. He needs to make drastic changes.
It seems now hes only looking at learning defence as an augmentation to his current style. freddie will still rule over khan and having two voices, potentially conflicting will confuse amir more then he already is.

I feel like two trainers could get him confused with his game plan and what not. Plus, how much is this guy going to pay on trainers alone?

I had a feeling with how many assignments he took up even though he would be far from the best trainer for said fighter, eg: Linares

That is the potential risk. In most cases I'd prefer one coach for a fighter, too.

Maybe Khan's lot are setting up a transitional period. Roach hasn't got long left in the game and he'll likely retire after Pac does. By then Nazim would have eased himself in and be able to take over the reigns completely. I'm pretty sure they've beared in mind Roach's illness.
