Not at all mate, Saying exactly what I think and feel, I think it's BS what's going on I really do!! Roach is having too much input and hisjob is solely to train the fighter!! What my main point here is, If Amir get's flattened in the first round of a fight then do you think that GBP and Roach will be around to pick up the pieces like Frank was???

Amir has been on top money since he went pro, More than anyone else was offereing and even after the shattering loss was still demanding top money and was still a box office star!! Can anyone tell me a fighter who has been flattened in 1 round then fights for a WBA world title exactly 2 fights and 12 months later??

The grass won't be greener I can promise that!!

I agree with you actually , Frank has handled Khan's career perfectly.

Not many promoters would have got him a world title shot two fights after being flattened in a round. With Frank, Khan was the big star but with Golden Boy he is just one of many world class fighters in their stable. Also, Khan isn't big enough to fill out an arena in the States and he hasn't got the charisma to attract fans like Naz did.

I think khan should fight maidana as well, but malignaggi is also dangerous for different reasons...and if this fight happens khan will be going to new york to face a rejuvenated and hungry malignaggi...if feather-fisted paulie stunned diaz, the chances of doing it to khan is not hard to imagine....You can beat speed by timing it...

In this match-up the more natural counter-puncher is malignaggi...Khan is a naturally offensive minded fighter, which is what paulie likes...khan will be coming forward against paulie....this is a good match-up, and if golden boy and team khan think this is a walk in the park, or that malignaggi can't hurt chinny khan, they will get upset...if they come-in with that attitude

Malinaggi is a level above Maidana is my opnion but stylistically the non punching PM does nothing to trouble Khan who can outspeed him and take what Maglinaggi dished out.

definately agree with you on the whole but he could well end up making a bit more money now. most of the purses nowadays come from TV and Sky Box Office will still be doing the Khan fights but now he will get HBO money in the pot too, so could be a bit better off. Golden Boy arent going to be impressed when they see that we wont travel to the states for him though, they are probably expecting some Hatton-like following.

Not facing Maidana is definately a ***** move though, Khan talked so highly of having that belt but he'd rather drop it than face a dangerous opponent.

I still have the lurking suspicion that Khan isn't all that good and I think he'll get found out. I mean in a boxing sense, not chin sense. Can't quite put my finger on why though, just something about his style. Too manic and yet stiff. Someone like Bradley utterly annihilates him.

I think Malignaggi gives him problems as well.

I definitely agree with that !!

Khans living in a bubble really, Frank does get too much stick !! But he can be proud of himself coz there is no other promoter like him

He has done a LOT of good things for Khan - Hes created a safe bubble for Khan, and now Khan thinks he can wonder of and everything will be fine !!

With Khan now signing to Golden Boy and moving to U.S to fight at the young age of 23 Khan is taking a risk not many fighters from the U.K have done at this stage of their careers. Golden Boy will not be feeding Khan no washed up or meaning less fights, looks like they are opting for Malignaggi as their next opponent for Khan something which Roach Khan's trainer also wants. Roach has also pointed out that he Khan can beat Maidana Khan’s mandatory but not as his next fight, he wants Maidana after Paulie fight. Roach has also stated that Khan will not be giving up his belt. Maidana probably will be offered money to step aside and wait for Khan later this year as both of them are co promoted by Golden Boy lets see what happens.

I might be alone in this, but I feel it's a good positive move.

Many of us (especially me) berate our fighters for taking the easier option of getting a WBO interalphabetty and piggy backing to the top of the rankings, waiting for a weak champion.... obviously winning, making a few easy defences at home before retiring with a great looking record.

Khan is showing the willingness to test himself the hard way - he won't be looked after, he'll be expected to fight good opposition from the word go and to continue to do so regardless of whether or not someone is a puncher, brawler, skilful southpaw - or whatever.

If you are good enough, you will rise to the top anyway, and personally speaking, I'm sure that would be more satisfying than being guided along a well trodden path. If he isn't good enough, then he will lose and fall into the gatekeeper category.

There are many unanswered questions regarding Amir, hopefully they will be answered in the fights that lay ahead.

As to whether your loyalties should be with your trainer or promoter (assuming a conflict) - trainer every time for me.

Myself and Beeston saw this coming a long time ago tbf. Khan will step up his game and fight some bigger fighers and whilst i agree to an extent with tony bellew (all the best in the future by the way). FW serves up to many journeymen to his prospect for my liking. Nothing can be learned by fighting a guy like oisin ***an and a washed up,bloated, shadow of barrera.

By the way guys how many FW fighters have conquered america whilst being with him, that is the land of opportunity in boxing without a doubt. There Khan can ply his trade against other top fighters and reap greater rewards whilst doing so, i believe the resent he receives over here also has alot to do with the move. Hatton did better straight away, Calzaghe would of gained a better resume had he moved there and thus becoming a bigger legend, Benn could of fought Toney/RJJ/Hopkins, and naseem beleived his own hype too much and couldnt take the fact he lost. he was a weak champion in the way he could only hamme rbums the way tyson did in the early days, and to be fair he was a pure coward for not answering his demons...

Khan will get his chin cracked for good eventually, a couple of non-punchers to be rolled over by him, and then i see a Prescott 2, I dont hate khan, i just dislike the fella for being a coward and not giving Thaxton his chance...
