:deal:deal Salita was actually Kotelnik's mandatory early this year, but Kotelnik pulled out and fought Khan. In all truth Salita was supposed to be WBA beltholder, he gets his chance now.

Preaching to the choir mate...but thats not to say that Maidana doesnt technically deserve the shot before Salita.

They counted Maidana as a mandatory defence for Kotelnik by the way...go figure. Even though Im pretty sure Marcos was the no1 contender late last year but inexplicably dropped down a spot or two before he even faced Kotelnik.

Maidana already had a shot while Salita has been waiting. By WBA rules Khan has to defend against the number one contender within 120 days. There's no technically about it.

    Good fight.
    Salita fully deserves his shot.

However, I believe it will be khan by UD.

They can keep Maidana sweet with the interim title for now, better for Khan than having to face him in a mandatory. What happens when he wants his shot at the full title? Will Khan vacate or move down?

He is a mandatory by being the interim/ordinary champ, but that fight does not have to happen for like a year or more. Roach already said they'd drop the belt before they fight Maidana!

    Salita is the mandatory contender.

If Khan drops the belt before fighting Maidana expect the hate/ridicule and class chin jokes to flare up again.

Exactly. Look for Khan's handlers to keep steering him away from anyone who can hit hard for as long as possible. That's what they were doing until somebody got a little bold and thought Prescott's KO record was inflated by fighting bums.:yep

Exactly. There was a lot of hype for that fight here seeing as Salita was a hometown guy and he'd finally headline by himself or be co/main of a large PPV but Kotelnik fought Khan instead.

As for "big punch" Warren must think the British public are a bunch of fools. Salita is a competent boxer but he doesn't knock people out. Khan will have an easy time IMO.

Can you give any examples of when a promoter has described an opponent as 'a feather fisted safety first runner'?

Salita went life and death with Derrick Campos so I assume Khan will give him a boxing lesson.

Well, er? Yeh! we are that, but he does look & sound so trustworthy especially compared to the other talking turds over here who try & pass themselves off as promoters:lol:
