Khan to fight Dane Martin Kristjansen 2nd Feb

Smart matchmaking to get Khan a higher spot in the WBO-rankings. Martin is #2 for some reason.

It's a no risk fight for Khan. Kristjansen has a huge heart but NO power at all and cuts easily.

 

The same reason that Erza Sellers miraculously became ranked before being announced as Enzos opponent and then when the BBBC refused to sanction the scandalous match, he dropped out and low and behold Mohamed Azzaoui popped into the top 10 and a few days later he was Macs new opponent.

 

If Warren DOES manage to get himself an elimination fight, then we have an interesting year ahead.

ahhh theres a suprise. looks like diaz will most likely move up to lww if the katsidis fight cannot be saved. meaning vacant wbo title, meaning a warren fighter going for an interim belt....

 

He fought the Commonwealth champ, English champ and then a major domestic player. This isn't a great match up.

 

the one good thing which may come out of this fight is that it should give khan rounds. i don't think kristjansen has been dropped before, but then again it looks like his best opponent to date was a 39 or 40 year old Stefano Zoff.

 

Boxrec have him at No.45 in the world. I can only assume that certain people have been paying their "sanctioning fees", in full and on time.

 

I'm not sure this fight will give Khan rounds - if you look at Kristjansen's record approx 18 of his 23 fights have been 6 round bouts!
