If Khan fights on July 31 then it probably won't be any of the top guys. It sounds like this is a quick hometown defense before a big fight at the end of the year on HBO. I'd expect him to be in with someone British but not too highly ranked or maybe even a rematch with Prescott.
It's a tough one, you need someone with a good name so he's not accused of ducking again but also someone who doesn't prove too much of a threat. British showdown with Ajose Olusegun.....?
Did you not hear "I want to fight Maidana next?" First of all, if he did fight Maidana, it would be expected in about 5 months or so from now. Like every fighter does. What's wrong with having a fight before that? A fight which would get him experience and improve his game. Overall his fanbase. And answer this, this is a Boxing forum. Why do you have personal hate with a guy you don't know?
Yes I heard that, so do it, fight him next. It's not the first time he has said that, last time GBP paid Maidana off and then Khan claimed Maidana was ducking HIM. :rofl:rofl:roflatschatschatsch Now is the time to fight the elite, not a can in a money making sham who would no doubt have a below 30% KO ratio.
Maidana can enforce his mandatory on Khan's title anytime he wants. So far he hasn't done so. Khan has consistently said he'd like to fight Maidana, Maidana has said his manager advised him not to take the fight yet.
i think he will either fight peterson or judah on that date. if he doesn't fight on july 31st then he will be out of action until november at the earliest because ramadhan starts in mid august so he won't be able to start training till late september.
July 31 seems early, but it's not like he was floored and dragged out against Paulie. No doubt he could do it. I'd say wait until late August and give himself a chance to be 100% if he's gonna be going in against Maidana.
