Khan will undoubtedly be an all time great.

He won the silver medal at the olympics when he was just !7 FFS! His talent is unbelievable. His amatuer record was 100 - 2. And was junior amatuer world champion. Already a world champ and beginning to put himself on the map at only 22. He career is surely mirroring the other greats who found their way into the hall of fame.

And he's at the wildcard with the best trainer in the world and everday is sparring the planets best fighter in the world in Manny Pacquaio. Surely it isn't premature to say Khan is destined for great things?

Let the kid start his career before making such lofty predictions. I'd say there is reason for optimism, but plenty of amateurs and even olympians can't hack it in the pros. It's a different game.

As for his debut, any idea where? If its Malignaggi, it would be nice if it was at MSG, I might even go to that.

    1. He's a titlist, not a champion.

    2. Plenty of fighters have looked the goods, then gone on to have careers that ended sharply or failed to materialise.

    3. He's sparred with Pacquiao twice in total, not on a daily basis.

    4. Are you saying Freddy is the best based on the fact he trains Pacquiao?

Everything is pure speculation right now, so yes, it is premature to say he is destined for great things. Especially with the competition in and around his weight class.

Unfortunetly for us, you don't know everything...

He actually has sparred Pacquiao on a regular basis. And of course im basing the fact that Roach is the best trainer in the world on his success with pacuiao you doughnut. Im basing it the way Ring magazine did when they awarded him trainer of the year. And the same way Rigondeaux did when he joined him. And the same way Khan did. And the same way all of the other fighters, commentators and journalists have.

And your comparing an elite amatuer and a prestigious and precocious talent of amir khan to a vague claim "theres been plenty of other fighters whe have been good but failed to produce." ...you arsehole.

Neither do you, but you're sure posting like you do.

    He's sparred with him twice.

Correllation doesn't imply causality; it comes as no big surprise that the people he trains say he's the best, you're ****ing daft if you think that's unbiased material.

Funny how you pick up on me not using specifics, yet you namedrop "all of the otehr fighters, commentators and journalists".

Ooooh correlation and causality eh, i believe your clever now.

And no its not the fighters' claims that hes the best its the fighters wins. Coupled with freddys correct breakdown of a fight. This to me is evidence that hes the best trainer.

And i generalised to save time. You really want me name every fighter, promoter and jounralist that has accredited him wth the status of best trainer in the world?

And no....no he's sparred him on a regular basis. Tit.

Well by the fact you've never heard of, and obviously don't understand, a well known phase, and that you can't differentiate between your and you're, i'm probably wasting my time with you as you're coming off as a moronic cretin.

Lol cretin hahaha. No i really do think your really clever.

And so now your argument has changed from disputing the fact that Khans a future great to my grammer skills. I thought the meaning was obvious and the grammer therefore irrelevant. I didnt realise i was speaking to an English teacher. This is a boxing site mate and not an english exam. You ***** lol.

There is no doubt he had a terrific amateur career. It does not mean he will have a HOF or ATG career. He seems to be making all the right moves in my book. People have every right to be optimistic about his future. But let him get through at least a few serious challenges before anointing him an ATG.

I think the step up to 140 may improve his chin, he seems to have a lot more strength in his legs so that will help his balance.

Hopefully we will found soon if he can take a heavy punch and come back into the fight.
