According to Sky Sports website Amir Khan will face Martin Kristjansen on April 5th in Bolton.

Was anticipated Yuri Romanov would be Khan's next opponent but this fight has failed to materialise (again) and instead Khan v Kristjansen is back on in what will be a WBO eliminator fight.

Eliminator to get a shot at Juan Diaz?

Or what, is Diaz getting stripped?

Will Katsidis be the Champ Khan needs to take on for the WBO title?

    sigh

this fight better had actually be an eliminator.

If it is Kahn will be the mandatory to the winner of Katsidis vs Casamayor

If its a title eliminator fair enough. Still maintain Khan beating Kastidis sint beyond the realms of possibility. In anycase Im 99% sure a defeat to a world class operator will be taken as a steep learning curve by his team, just as Marks defeat to Vuma was.

Usually not, but Amir needs rounds, and Warren knows it. Who promised Romanov or Thaxton? Missed loads in the last 2 weeks!

Thing is jeff, I think its good move from Warren. Why fight a dangerous opponent for a euro title when you can bypass it & get an eliminator for a recognised world title aginst a less risky opponent?

I know some will be upset, but Warren has done the smart thing IMO.

How good is Casamayor these days (after the robbery)? How about Katsidis? Will the winner of this fight be a strong Champion in the division? Would the winner be guaranteed to beat Romanov?

Most people here thing Khan can beat Katsidis. They certainly seem to be more weary of him than of Romanov. If Casamayor is shot or badly faded, it's a very good move by Warren. It's just that the title won't mean so much...but it seems it's not that strong a division, or am I wrong?

Disappointed (but not surprised) this fight has been announced.

    Kristjansen's record - W19 (KO5) L1 D3 = 23

He won't have fought for approx 7 months when he faces Khan

I suppose there is always the chance Kristjansen could get the flu again!

These kind of matches are exactly why boxing is being taken off itv.....Dunky is right it is a smart move... But to be honest i'd prefer to watch something that isn't a forgone conclusion before the fight even starts. Khan was boring last time out and I have no inkling to watch this one-fed up of watching clever matchmaking. I'd much rather see some clever fighting.
