Many people want his to fail because he's been overprotected to the extent that they didn't put him in with a puncher. The hype is too big for someone who would be KOed by a good puncher who can throw a good over-the-top right, good boxer or not.
No, no, no, no, no........well possibly. I've been accused of "hating" Khan recently (for the wrong reasons) and I will admit there may be some truth to your seemingly cynical theory. However, if he were to face a decent puncher, take good shots and still prevail, he would start to get my suppport and belief.
i'd much rather see him take little steps at fighters like meager, murray, thaxton then move onto ramanov, it makes more sense if hes had some experience against fighters who can hit a lil hard, it would be nice if he gets together more snap in his punches, it seems like its volume that deteriorates most of his opponents,
gutted that romaneav aint his next bowl european title a step in the right direction and romaneav would beat kristijansen or else the would have a fight
Its hard to believe this Kristjansen is ranked so highly by the WBO - approx 19 of his 23 fights have been 6 rounders!
If Kristanjansen can get a title eliminator shot, then just about anybody can get it. First Warren says Khan's next fight would be in the US or it would be fight for Euro belt. Then Warren says Khan had to fight Kristanjansen due to contractual obligations that were enforced by Kristanjansen. Total BS!
****..i don't come on-line one day and this happens. at the risk of repeating what everyone else has been saying, this is smart move for Warren but a bad one for boxing fans. MK is such a step down from St Clair, khan's probably going to need a parachute. FW expects katsidis to beat casamayor and become wbc interim champ, (giving up the wbo interim - don't think you can be interim champ of two organisations!) and then wait for diaz to move up to light welterweight as expected.
Interim is when a fighter is like a stand in champ, a stop-gap, which can happen if the real champ is out due to injury or something. Like a caretaker champ. An eliminator fight simply means the loser won't be getting a title shot in the immediate future.
i was thinking khan inheriting a newly vacant title. which amounts to the same thing as warren has enough influence to handpick the opponent.
