Fantastic. Khan will be holding the WBO belt by the end of the year. Then he will claim he is looking to unify but it will never happen as he moves up to Light Welter to fight for the biggest belt of them all......the much coveted WBU belt (which Khans hero Hatton defended 15 odd times).

Usually have similar sentiments Dunky, but i'm still sticking to Khan needing to be in with a puncher.

Well to be honest, not even a 'big hitter' as such, just someone with hands that can do damage. The one common theme in all khans opponents thus far has been a lack of power. Even as he has stepped up the level of opponents, it has become clearer that he is sticking to people without stopping power.

It is not that I really want to see khan knocked out exactly, I just think he is negatively impacting on his development by the route he is taking (i.e. his first 'sink or swim' moment with a 'puncher' may come in a World title fight...risky!).

Even more so after the Limmond fight. He was in serious trouble there, against what really was a Super Featherweight (with not a great KO record at that weight). It just raised some big questions, which they (Warren, Khan) seem desperate to avoid answering at the moment.

But, should Khan go on and become world champ, excellent. That would be fantastic at such a young age, I have never doubted his ability. He is a superb boxer. Just a few glaring questions still to be asked! :bbb

No Khan's not fighting Romanov - but apparently Thaxton is.

Its been reported that Hennessy have agreed a deal with Romanov's camp.

Its likely to take place in Norwich - no date finalised yet.

Thaxton is the mandatory for Romanov's Title.

Even if Thaxton loses to Romanov his British Title wouldn't be on the line so he can still go on to defend that.

IF (big if I know) he was to pull off a win against Romanov it would reinforce his claim to a fight with Khan.

Got to give Hennessy credit for coming up with some good fights.

Thaxton v Romanov, Froch v Inkin & Murray v Fewkes all lined up.

    Good stuff!

Talking of management, this is what Romanov's manager is quoted as saying on BBN:

"Some boxers talk about world title aspirations but, besides having been given the opportunity to support their claims prefer to avoid a real challenge and choose to select an easy route".

Who could he possibly be referring to? :huh

it seems that most people are agreed that khan has questionable whiskers so...

why risk him losing against a big puncher if it isn't for a world title?
he has the experience of coming back from a knockdown so nothing new to be learned there

at least if he lost to Katsidis he would still be in the world title picture and with youth on his side could rebuild his career

if he lost to a journeyman with a big punch it would set him back further in terms of rankings and confidence, as well as making him less marketable (thinking about TV deals here)
