interesting article by Kevin mitchell of the guardian

mitchell shits on the other boxing writers btw especially the gay porn (ufc) lover of the telegraph

not saying much though, its like being the tallist midget in the circus, the level of boxing writers has dropped drastically since the sports heyday, before the best sports writers were drawn to boxing as its the best sport to write about, but since the decline especailly of the heavyweight division its coinsided with the drop of writing talent and the best sports writers these days have gone to other sports, compare the guys like mcilvanny, schulberg to todays muppets

    True.

But if Khan stands and trades with Maidana this would be over in 1 round.

For me this is more winnable for Khan than it might appear at first glance after the Ortiz fight. Ortiz made him look good by fighting a stupid fight. Having said that Maidana landed 4 absolutely monster shots flush on Ortiz in the 5th. Anyone of those would have put Khan's lights out.

I've never seen him fight yet but i'll shall be watching the Maidana/Ortiz fight on the train home tommorow. From what i've read he likes to smash peopleup which doesn't suit Amir very well:shock:

    UFC near TV deal
Since the passing of Setanta, the ebbing of ITV's sports budget and the BBC's continued indifference to the sport, boxing relies heavily on Sky for coverage. It is an unhealthy near-monopoly.

UFC, meanwhile, are recovering quickly from Setanta's demise and are mulling over offers from five networks. They will choose the best offer in the next few days, just in time for their centenary show in Las Vegas next weekend, which is expected to be amazing. Is this a trend or a blip for boxing? Stay tuned.

what a load of tosh,**** me mate blaming the london bombings on khans hate.
and trying to say he did nowt wrong by driving his car through a red light and running some bloke over, then saying ,in a roundabout way,the bloke drank him self to death through depression is a load ot bollox :nono

i watched that fight with maidana,he would get to khan sooner or later,as would most world class boxers, which will be khans downfall everytime he steps up:bbb

I think we should see if Khan can get past Kotelnik, and if anything Kotelnik should start favourite.

If Khan beats Kotelnik then maybe the Maidana fight could be made.

AT this stage i say Maidana by ko.

And I think some folk have got carried away by Khan's win over a washed-up/moving up in weight/one-eyed Barrera, and acting like all of a sudden he's some kinda slick master boxer with the tools to stay out of harms way against guys his own size or bigger for 12 rounds, posting shut-out wins and turning fights into exhibitions of his amazing skills, displaying to the max the art of hitting without being hit.

And of course he has Roach in his corner, who has recently turned into "God" himself.:D

i really hope so. one kotelnik rematches maidana the winner can fight bradley/campbell. this would establish the 'real' 140lb champ as pac is not really part of that division but part of a division between 140 and 145..........'super-fight weight'

    Maidana dismissed Khan completely. :yep

THis match up is Khans WORST nightmare.

The only way i can see khan winning is if he gets on his bike and peppers Maidana with the jab all night.

It will take emense concentration by Amir to pull it off because if he lapses he will get caught and then its goodnight Irene.
