Surely that cant happen That would be a disgrace if it did whats he going to do for the rest of his career if that happens move up and down in weight whenever a hard fight comes along it would be embarrasing i dont like Khan that much but i dont think hed want to do that but maybe FW would want to so the golden goose could keep the the money rolling in on SBO etc.
It's not racism saying that Khan has no chance of the big time Championship because he cannot take a punch, utter rubbish. In nearly all of the fights he has taken where the opponent has at least tried to win he has been rocked, wobbled, dropped or knocked out. These fighters were not really world class let alone KO merchants. He's been hyped up and given all the opportunites going, he never even won the gold medal. Yet now he finds himself challenging for what they admit is the easiest route against one of the weakest champions. Most people on here would love Khan if he had any sort of durability, but sadly he's getting chances that much better pro fighters may never get. Basically after all the hype, money and promotion he could fail miserably and thats why people want to see him getting knocked out. He's not bothered about what people think as long as they buy a ticket or the Sky PPV. Khan deserves credit for coming back from the Prescott loss and it's a wise move to choose one of the best trainers, but I find it hard to see how he can be improved. Every opponent knows that he's vulnerable so will try and exploit it. Moving up to 140lbs may make his chin a bit better, but he is against bigger fighters and bigger hitters, so the gain may not be an advantage after all. If he beats Kotelnik, and I admit, Kotelnik isn't the best by far, what is there for him? A hard first defence against Maidana? A big fight against Hatton? There is money to be made, but I'm afraid that unless there has been a Lazerous like recovery in his punch resistance, he's going to be Ko'ed more than he wins in the next few fights.
I watched the Ortiz-Maidana fight yesterday on sky sports and I can't see Khan beating Maidana. That guy has some serious power ! Unimpressed by Ortiz and shocked by his post match cooments - I can't beleive so many ppl were rating him so highly !
I watched this yesterday, **** it was on Sky Sports? Oh well, firstly Ortiz don't like it when it's not going his way does he. He'll give up on the sport after another loss like that. Maidana's short sharp chopping punches look dangerous though, Khan would have to box on the outside the whole fight picking him off with fast precise shots.
I just love talking about Khan because he is the biggest fraud in UK boxing since Fraudly. He has no chin, no movement and lifts his chin in the air to get hit, he also has no punch resistance, so he regularly gets decked by guys 2 weight classes below him with less than a 30% KO record. Also by huys so shot they should be in a medical clinic for brain disorders. Fraud, Fraud. Loving to see him against someone who is a champion and can punch. This will go 8 rounds and then he gets KTFO.
I wouldn't say he has a terrible style for Khan. He isn't a typical pressure fighter that is methodical, closing the ring off with good footwork and lateral movement, or a good inside fighter. He's just a rough and tumble guy with a lot of raw power, and underrated timing. Ortiz traded too much. Khan could possibly outbox him for long periods. Not as bad of a style as Juan Diaz for example. The problem is one punch and Khan is out, so he can't make any mistakes. And well..it takes a brave man to bet on a guy lasting 12 without taking punches.
This is the type of general reaction that makes me ****ing howl with laughter. If it had been Khan in the ring with Ortiz the other night and he had been put on his arse three times before coming back and taking the win then a majority on here would have been calling him a chinny **** who got the lucky win.
SkySports Amir Khan is re-focusing his thoughts on Andreas Kotelnik after the Ukrainian's former opponent won last weekend. Marcos Maidana went down to a narrow points loss to Kotelnik in their title fight in February, but returned with an emphatic sixth round stoppage of the promising Victor Ortiz. The performance emphasised the merit of Kotelnik's impressive win against the Argentine and Khan says he will be taking his opponent very seriously when he challenges him for the WBA light-welterweight title on July 18. "Maidana's win at the weekend shows you just how good Kotelnik is," said the 22-year-old. "Everyone was talking about Ortiz as the next big thing in boxing, but Maidana just walked him down. "He punches hard as well, so I know that I'm going to have to do something special to KO Kotelnik - and I will. "I saw the fight and it was an impressive victory, and shows just how good I need to be if I am to become a world champion. "Some fighters would get worried about it, but it's just inspired me. I was working twice as hard with Freddie (Roach) in the gym the next day." Khan is refusing to look beyond his clash with the Ukrainian and is focused on the fight. "It would be really stupid to start thinking about other fights," Khan told frankwarren.tv. "I am fully focused on beating Kotelnik, and haven't even looked at any potential future opponents. "Everything has been geared to winning on July 18 and I am confident that's what is going to happen
Ortiz did bottle it yes, it wasn't like Cotto who had been bashed up by Margarito first..... The one thing you cannot question with Khan (other than speed) is his heart and bottle.....
