I'm feeling great and smug as I had my best ever winning last saturday thanks to Haye and Pac. Made £1650 profit on haye by betting stoppage 1-3 & 1-6 rounds :D Wished Haye told me abt round 3, that was abt 11/1!!! Damn it

Made £1000 on Pac with £300 bet on points :D - ok I must admit I was a fool as I didn't see the UD selection for Pac, would of got me an extra £650 :patsch , but hey ho £2650 is great! :good

Ok onto the fight between Khan and Maidana. I think Khan will win this fight on UD as he is the more skillful and faster boxer. I think any boxer who operates under Roach doesn't take too much risk going for the KO, rather to break the opponent down and perhaps if the opportunity present itself for a stoppage then so be it. So far I have £50 on Khan to win by UD @ odds of 11/2 (6.5). I may put another 50 or 100 nearer the fight.

Vote, let me know what you guys think and perhaps briefly say why you think the outcome will be.

I would not bet too much on this fight, it is essentially, because of maidana's power and Khans weak chin, a toss up fight. I don't put money on toss up's, the outcome is too difficult to predict. That's why i'm not betting on this fight, or Abraham - Froch. There too close to call.

Khan could easily outbox Maidana, but on the other hand Maidana could end it at any second. I would enjoy the money i have got mate, and not risk it on this 50/50 fight.

^^ Wise words. One punch can change a fight. There's no predicting how this will pan out. :good

    :deal This.

Either Khan comprehensively outboxes Maidana to decision / late TKO, or Maidana smashes Khan's jaw. With Khan being the way he is, it's too risky to bet anything significant on either outcome.

Personally, I've got a hunch Maidana will catch Khan at some point, but it's only a hunch and could very well be wrong.

From a gambling perspective I'll be sitting this one out, unless there's a creative arbitrage / trading opportunity where you win both ways, but that's got nothing to do with the fight.

Exactly. It's not worth risking your well won money.

Maidana by Stoppage, as good as Khan is in every other aspect maidana will at some point land on that chin and it will crash the latest khan hype train.

Those are both very close fights to call. I still cant decide on Abraham-Froch but Khan would be my obvious pick against Maidana.

Im thinking since its a 50-50 and odds are in Abrahams favor i might go with Froch. I think he will be hungry having just lost and will fight a smart fight not trading with Abraham. Not to mention his jab and reach will let him dictate the pace if he wants.

:think I'm not sure. Abraham said he would not stall in the early rounds like he usually does, and he would come out throwing pucnhes from the off. He also managed to catch Dirrell (an elusive master) with hard shots in their fight, so he can definetely catch Froch. Carl is probably my favourite fighter, but I think Abraham will grab this, his high guard is hard and frustrating to break through, and I don't know if Froch has the discipline to break through. However as you said, Froch could fight smart and use his range to outbox Abe, so it's too close to make an official call. I'm not even putting v-cash on this one, never mind real money.

Don't know the odds yet, but I guess the smart thing is to bet on Maidana by stoppage.

It will probably end with a wide UD for Khan or Maidana catches him.

Ok guys thanks for that. I understand Khan dont have a strong chin and maidana have a powerful punch, under roach khan has a much greater defense and improved so much as a boxer. Certainly the Froch v Abraham fight I will not bet as that is too close to call. But this one I do think highly that khan will win by UD, of course I may well be wrong after the fight. Khan easily beat Kotelnik while maidana lost to kotelnik. of course styles makes fight and each pairing could be very different. I do take what you guys said on board.

I've got Khan by UD, but he could easily lose it if he's not careful. He talked about taking Pacquiao's best shots, and that's a load of bull****. If he actually believes that, he may be going in with some undeserved confidence and get reckless.

Yes this odds is very good and I highly think Khan will get a wide UD, if maidana dont floor him! Yes get in on it soon as nearer the fight I certainly think it will go down (skybet).

Skybet were offering the same odds on UD for Pac, I predicted in my other thread Pac should win by 119-109 and I was basically spot on. But I was kicking myself for not seeing the UD selection on PAC, just decision/technical decision  @ 10/3.

In all the hype, people forget that Pacquiao isn't a KO artist. In his last 25 fights, from 2001 omwards, he's got 6 genuine KOs, the most impressive of which were a washed-up Morales and a wide-open Hatton. All his recent "KOs" bar Hatton have been TKOs. He's a devastating accumulation puncher; medium-power punches thrown by the hundred, but Khan surviving his shots in sparring doesn't tell us much.

I'd like to know where the OP got 11/2 on the Khan decision, though.
