Khan v Maidana : who wins?

I'm not going to call this fight yet. Kotelnik went to war with this guy and edged a decision, he deserves that respect and recognition.

What I would say is that whatever the result, I'd be pleasantly shocked if they put Khan in with Maidana.

 

IF Khan does beat Kotelnik- which is no sure thing- and then takes a fight with and beats Maidana then I think we can start saying that he is the business and a major force in the division. He's improved immensely since Prescott and I can't wait to see how he reacts opposite the big boys now. We shall see. Either way though, you know what you're getting with Khan- if he's hurt he'll still keep going.

 

Maidana would be his mandatory so.

 

Irrespective of being a mando it doesn't mean he'll take the fight, mate. Just look at Bradley as a recent example of this at LWW. Khan's gotta get there first, though.

 

For me Khan needs to get past Kotelnik first before we start talking about other fights for him. Kotelnik will be Khan's hardest test yet, but I am getting the feeling Khan is going to put on a great show and win in style.

While i was impressed with Maidana's heart, stamina, toughness and power, i still think a slick boxer would beat him without too much trouble. In all the fuss over Ortiz quitting, people forget that he had Maidana ready to go and if it wasnt for the bell would have knocked him out early. That said, the guy clearly has impressive power, and there are stil questions over Khan's chin and defense under pressure, more so the latter than the former in my opinion.

If Khan does beat Kotelnik, and i expect him to do so, then it doesnt automatically follow that he will beat Maidana. Completely different styles means a completely different fight. If Khan comes in against Maidana and is on top form from the first bell i could see him putting him away early like Ortiz threatened to do. But if he isnt at his best, or Maidana proves to be more akward than he looks then it could be a very, very tough fight for Khan.

 

Kotelnik is a harder fight for Amir then Maidana. But the Maidana fight is much more dangerous. If khan looks untouchable against kotelnik fight with maidana may be worth considering.
