Let's look at both fighters mental state first.

Khan - just had an impressive US debut, thinks he is is the best 140 fighter in the world. Excellent sparring at WildCard, very good team around him and above all having Freddy Roach in his corner boosted his confidence. Days before the Malignaggi fight, he said "Malignaggi has fought great fighters before like Hatton and Cotto but he never fought anyone as good as me". He really thinks he's the real deal. Fair play to him.

On the other hand, Maidana is undefeated, has knocked out 27 of his 29 opponents, has already destroyed one of GBP's golden boys. He is hungry and confident. He proposed "winner takes all the money" so that clearly shows his confidence is sky high. He never tasted defeat and probably watched Khan v Prescott so many times thinking he can do it easily too and become WBA king.

But I dont think it will be easy for Maidana. If he cant land big shot within the first 3 rounds, Khan will have the momentum going and keep coming in with fast combos and get out of there quickly. Maidana will be there all night though, which will make it exciting. He has shown he has good stamina so he might drag Khan into a war in late rounds but thats unlikely. Khan UD.

    Thoughts ?

Mostly like Khan will make him look incredibly slow and uncoordinated. There is always the chance of Khan getting caught badly, but that applies when he fights almost anyone. I think it will end up being a relatively easy night for Khan and as a result most people will discredit his win despite it being a fight that so many people were calling for.

Maidana is not undefeated, he lost to Kotelnik. Khan has the ability to outbox him or knock him out, but the question is, will his chin be able to stand up to the vicious power shots that Maidana will surely hit him with. I'm not sure he'll be able to take it so right now I'd go with Maidana by KO early.

I would love to see Maidana KO him early, but I think he will likely be outpointed.

I personally believe that's a load of shite coming from Maidana. If the guy didn't care, then he'd get it on with Khan with the amount he was being offered at first.

Khan peppers, resets, circles and gets his Winky earmuffs on for a UD, shutout or even a stoppage at anytime in the fight. That plodder Maidana doesn't vary the speed of his punches, is predictable, looks as confused as a woodpecker in a concrete forrest when he sees a jab and is a sucker for a conventional one fellowed by a straight right. I predict Amir has his way with this slightly overrated crude slugger and brings home the bacon (I agree bad choice of words) in which ever way he wants, but will choose the path to least resistants.

Khan's fight to lose as he has all of the advantages...queu the "chin bitches...er i mean checkers," lol
