Marquez a non-puncher? Had Manny doing a dance, knocked out Casamayor, first man to do it, and then knocked out Diaz flat? ...Come on guys.

 

great fight aswell btw, JMM is a worthy opponent for anyone no matter what people say - as worthy as maidana, which i see as making a lot more sense a few fights down the line when both are more established

I agree with this.

Khan has made good strides forward, but blasting out a tomato can inside a round proves nothing - other than his professionalism.

Salita shouldn't have been allowed inside the arena without a ticket, in fairness Khan dealt with him exactly as he should.

Marquez is still a bloody good fighter, withstood an onslaught before wearing down and stopping Diaz, stopped Casamayor, IMO beat Pacquiao.... before the Mayweather fight, in which he held no advantages at all.

Khan ought to fight Maidana, why allow someone else to get the credit for beating him - which will happen again soon, when you could?

This fight isn't going to get any bigger..... a Marquez fight doesn't really tick that many boxes for me.

Should be interesting, as long as its not a doughball ref who jumps in when Khan backs him onto the ropes, cause Marquez can come back from a wobble easy. Can see Amir getting counterpunched to **** if he aint careful, but if he uses his speed and doesnt get pulled in he should do ok. Although experience goes a long way so you never know with Marquez, would love to see JMM win, one of my favourite fighters

 

didn't say marquez is a non-puncher but he hasn't got the same power that maidana has does he?

spot on. whatever you can say it takes bottle to fight JMM for his first fight in the states.

 

JMM may not have the pop of Maidana but he does have the skill to at least land on Khan...its pointless having a chin testing punch if you can't hit that chin. This place is really ****ed up if posters would rather see Khan face a journeyman rather than a top 5 p4p'er with a near 70% KO ratio

 

In taking this fight Khan's kinda doing Warren & Mitchell a favour as well, is he not?
I imagine JMM will have to vacate his lightweight titles win or lose; surely he can't hold on to them without defending them for 15 months?
Thus Katsidis - Mitchell becomes a real possibility for the summer.

 

JMM said he cant make 135 anymore so its obvious he will vacate.

 

definately pay Maidana step aside money, JMM trying to become the 1st mexican to be a 4 division champ is a big selling point for the fight.
