Khan v Mccloskey / Ortiz v Berto/Lopez v Salido Rbr thread..

before the fight khan was saying mccloskey was a good challenge but now after the fight he pretty much said mccloskey shouldnt be in the ring with him - nice one khan.

well done to barry hearns spoke the truth in the ring and in his interview.

 

Alexander was negative and also world class boxer which Paul isn't but Bradley dominated there fight even though he had flu in weeks leading to fight.

I think there's a difference between there bout and this one. Timothy took away Alexander's will to win. Khan didn't do that to Paul although obviously fight didn't last as long so we never know but his performance was sloppy.

Bradley's was but McCloskey fought centre ring...yet Khan was missing by miles. He was committing schoolboy errors in the Maidana fight at times and tonight he was again.

 

Loved McCloskey's corner saying Khan was gassed after 2 or 3 rounds. If that was the case, why didn't McCloskey throw anything at the 'tiring' Khan?

I thought the straight right worked OK for Khan but otherwise PM made things very awkward for him. Khan looked open for some sort of left-hand shot all night the way he was lunging him but PM couldn't counter at all which was disappointing.

Overall, pretty **** fight and Khan should just put this week of one fiasco after another behind him. I still see Khan-Bradley as a 50-50 fight so bring it on in July!

 

Khan looked like he had no power what so ever tonight, kind of strange after putting down Maidana in the first but anyway, Khan did all he needed to, he looked like an amateur at times because he didn't have to try. He was just rushing in because McCloskey is a level way below him and it was obvious.

If you really think Paul would have won the second half of that fight you're living on another planet. Khan didn't look world class and won all 6 rounds, what's that tell you? ****, pointless fight and it meant nothing. Khan won't fight like that against Bradley, it was a milk some money fight which went totally wrong in the weeks before but you can see why SBO didn't want any part of this.

McCloskey was utter wank.

 

Kahn was very poor tonight, Dudey was worse. Paul lost every round and claimed it was a gameplan, come off it! The result probably suits most. Khan gets his unification fight and Dudey gets to claim he was in the fight and that he deserves another shot at a title. Sky won really, Munroe wasn't all that impressive, and Watson got the shock of a lifetime. That, combined with a dissappointing main event, people will now begrudge paying 15 quid for the card which indicates Sky were right.

At least JuanMa and Berto/Ortiz should deliver

Spot on. Nothing indicated that Khan was tired.

I actually think Roach's prediction may have weighed on Khan's mind. He seemed to be looking for the knock out from the start, a hugely unintelligent strategy. He should have used his jab, found his range and worked the body until McCloskey started getting tired/frustrated.

As it was Khan put in his least aesthetically pleasing performance for years and made McCloskey look better than he is, although he landed very little and Khan was clearly winning every round.

Bull**** stoppage. Barry Hearn comes away with the event win.

I might have went a bit mental on another thread. But Khan fought like a bloody amateur. His attitude, at present, is all wrong. He told us all he had this new "style" that he was going to present tonight. Where was it?

Dudey didn't do much but if Khan can't inflict much damage on a European Light Welter champion what hope does he have of this pathetic dream fight he wants with Mayweather. Khan was begging to be countered tonight.

Again, he's an accident waiting to happen.

 

Also I'd like to point out to anyone who hasn't noticed, the light welterweight division is actually quite poor. From a selling point of view there are some big names, but from a quality point of view it is pretty bad.

 

True Ricky would have beat them all.

 

After the Kotelnik and Malignaggi fights i really started to think highly of Khan both in and out of the ring, but now after his last two outings i think he's shown that he is there for the taking against a more skilled opponent and i have also really started to dislike the guy, i never normally go against a fellow countryman but to be honest i couldn't care less if Bradley were to beat him if that fight happens; i'm sorry to say. He has lost my support.

 

Don't think so. I think they would have been really competitive but I don't actually think Hatton was ever that good.
